Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1962 Austin-Healey 3000
Mark II BT7 Roadster. Heritage Trust Certificate confirms correct
original color and numbers-matching engine. Finished in Colorado
Red with black interior and top, this car was also optioned with
overdrive. This car was restored by Cullingford Motors, a
well-regarded English car specialist in Ontario, in the early 2000s
and it has been with a single family and only 6,000 miles since.
Very nice paint quality over a straight and rust free body with
excellent panel fitment and door gaps. All chrome was refinished
(plus all new rubbers) during the restoration - there are a few
very minor marks here and there from light and careful use, but the
car still feels quite fresh overall. Restored wire wheels are
running modern Goodyear radials.
Interior was likewise restored with new seat upholstery and
carpets; nice dash and gauges (all of which work). A modern stereo
has been discreetly installed beneath the heater, with speakers
hidden beneath the dash - it's out of view but within easy reach.
Brand new convertible top with original frame and side curtain in
good condition; an older but serviceable tonneau is currently
fitted with a brand new one (with hardware) included.
Under the hood is the original 3.0 liter straight six fed by triple
carbs and mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The
engine and transmission were rebuilt (with records) 6,000 miles
ago. Our client, an Atlanta-based airline pilot, inherited the car
from his father in Canada a few years ago - he has driven it on
nice-weather days and has maintained this car with the precision
you would expect of an airline captain. It runs and drives
well.
