Purchased by Bob Mosier of Mosier Restorations, Inc in 1998
*Of note Bob previously worked for Phil Hill Restorations
Bob began a bare metal frame off restoration with the intention of
building a "hot rod" PF coupe for use in vintage rallies and tours.
He would work on the car in between other "paying customer"
projects and performed a concours quality bare-metal repaint in
original Grigio Conchiglia, with a Rosso Bordeaux roof. The chassis
has also been restored, as well as new chrome trim, new Borrani
wire wheels, and the installation of a wiring harness.
The drivetrain consists of a correct type 128F engine sourced from
a 250 GTE, along with a gearbox sourced from a 250 GTE, while the
original rear-axle matches the one listed on the factory's build
sheet and Marcel Massini Report. All the mechanical items will need
to be rebuilt prior to road use.
Bob's intentions for the interior was to do a TDF style cockpit
with crinkle finish on the dash, sport style seats and
carpeting/vinyl in similar styling of the 50's and 60's race
cars.
We purchased the car from Bob in early 2020.
