572 ci, 630 hp. Holly EFI. Richmond 5-speed. Engine is ZZ 572 crate motor from GM Performance Division and has between 12,000 and 13,000 miles on it. Engine mated with heavy duty clutch and12 bolt rear end with a Detroit Locker Posi unit installed. Engine has great sound through the custom 3-inch Basani pipes. All panels are original. No rust. This is a true Chevelle SS and not a clone. It has PS, PB and factory AC. I upgraded the factory AC in 2016 to the new freon and had a new compressor and condenser installed. The paint is excellent and it is the original factory color of Nevada Silver with black striping on the hood and trunk. The vinyl top and seat upholstery have been replaced and are also in excellent condition. There is a full sized spare in the trunk with jack.
The radio has been upgraded to an aftermarket Chevy look-a-like with Blue Tooth and hands-free telephone and microphone. There are new speakers in the door kickers plus two in the back window deck. There are two powered 10" Kenwood Exceleron subwoofers in a custom box in the trunk with a separate volume control for the subs under the dash. They can make the car pound and shake if you decide to crank it up.
This Chevelle SS was originally built at the assembly plant in Arlington, Texas with a factory 454 and automatic tranny. A new 572 crate motor was installed later with the Richmond 5-speed when the speedometer showed about 85,000 miles on it, according to the information I have from a previous owner. I bought this car in January 2015 and have only put about 2000 miles on it in 6 years. I have several other classic cars; thus, so few miles on this one.
This engine is a "beast" that likes to roar and go fast, but with the 5-speed it is pretty reasonable on the highway in fifth gear. The Holly throttle-body fuel injection system has a digital screen inside the car that gives you instantaneous readouts on RPM, coolant temp, air intake temp, fuel-air ratio, and charging voltage. It is programmable to suit the owner's driving style. I had the EFI installed in May 2016 and have the receipts and full manual for it.
This is one classy and beautiful car. The 572 is a WOW and it gives the owner instant bragging rights. Most people have never seen a 572 and their jaws drop open when you raise the hood. This car gets lots of attention with many thumbs-up. Many people come up to look at it and talk about it everywhere I take it.
So you ask, "Why is this car for sale?" Answer, I have too many cars and my wife is really on me to free up space in the drive way and garages. She is right on this issue.
