1988 Jeep Wagoneer For Sale -Recent Trade-In!, Air Conditioning,
Nicely Optioned LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1988 Jeep
Wagoneer The Jeep Wagoneer was the first luxury 4x4, sold and
produced until 1991. The original design and origins date back to
the "Kaiser/Jeep" era of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Originally
produced in 1963 the Wagoneer was a "sport utility vehicle" (SUV)
decades before the term was even coined, the four-wheel drive
Wagoneer saw only minor mechanical changes during its 28-year plus
production run, the third longest in U.S. automotive history.
Introduced as a successor to the Willys Jeep Station Wagon that had
been built since the end of World War II, the Wagoneer pioneered
the sport utility vehicle concept. Despite its pickup truck chassis
and boxy shape it was more carlike than any 4x4 on the market.
Compared with offerings from other manufacturers, the Wagoneer's
unique luxury sets it apart. Based on the Jeep SJ platform, the
revolutionary Wagoneer sported an advanced overhead cam inline
six-cylinder and later various V-8 powerplants, plus they offered
features unheard of at the time in any other mainstream four-wheel
drive vehicle, such as an independent front suspension, power
steering and automatic transmission. This 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
is finished in Bright White with faux wood paneling over Tan
leather and cloth, and power comes from a 5.9-liter V8 paired with
a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
Equipment includes a roof rack, a trailer hitch receiver, 15? alloy
wheels, air conditioning, and power-adjustable front seats. It
remains today in very nice driver condition ready to be used and
enjoyed by the next caretaker! Additional Details: 1988 JEEP
