Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale - Ultra-Rare Documented Tuxedo
Black L68 With A/C LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967
Chevrolet Corvette L68 Coupe The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the
last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of
refinements made it the best of the line. Several important changes
marked the mid-years' evolution but, no change was greater than the
introduction of the 427-cubic inch engine. These Big Block cars
would be the high-water mark of Corvette performance and refinement
for the C2 series of cars. The 427/400hp L68 came standard from the
factory with the Holley triple two-barrel carburetor arrangement
called Tri-Power. Only 2101 Corvettes in 1967 received this rare
engine option which was a $305.50 cost. Body changes were modest
with five smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger
ones and the flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was
a single backup light mounted above the license plate and the
previous models' wheel covers were exchanged for the new design.
Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake
moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. This fully
loaded, highly optioned factory built 1967 Corvette L68 427/400hp
coupe is an ultra-rare example that is fully and completely
documented. It retains its CCAS certified original numbers matching
engine and was factory delivered with a plethora of the rarest
options. Purchased new through Central Chev Olds Ltd in London,
Ontario by its first owner, this 427 Coupe was ordered in the most
desirable and rarest color combination of Tuxedo Black with a red
stinger hood complemented by a black leather interior. Powering
this Corvette is the optional L68 427ci/400hp big block engine with
a M21 4-speed transmission and Posi-traction rear end. Adding to
the rarity are a host of factory ordered options as listed on the
tank sticker including tinted glass, headrests, front seat shoulder
harness, air conditioning, posi-traction, emissions control air
injection reactor pump, transistor ignition, side mounted exhaust,
telescopic steering and Am/Fm radio. This ultra-rare Corvette
received a complete frame off restoration by a marque expert to
NCRS standards. The car was completely restored to a concours
quality and looks as if it was delivered from the assembly line
when new. The car was completely taken apart and every component
restored to its original finish. The exterior was repainted in
original style lacquer paint just as they did in 1967 at the
factory. Also the interior was completely redone during its
restoration but the decision was made to retain the original
leather seat covers and not refinish them, as they were in such
great original condition. Due to the quality and correctness of the
restoration, it ended up being awarded the coveted NCRS Top-Flight
blue ribbon, further validating the quality. Amazingly, this
special example retains its CCAS Validated matching-numbers engine,
as well as its numbers matching transmission which is a truly very
difficult find. Additionally, CCAS validated Trim tag which
verifies that this one of the very few cars painted Tuxedo Black.
Furthering its authenticity is the original tank sticker that has
been validated by NCRS, verifying all its extremely rare factory
options. Documentation is extremely important with any car of this
rarity and this car doesn't disappoint. Included in the sale is the
NCRS validated Tank Sticker, CCAS engine validation, CCAS trim tag
validation, NCRS Topflight award and NCRS judging sheets, GM Of
Canada documentation, Protect-O-Plate and more! When you look at
production numbers it is evident that the L68 427/400hp with
factory air conditioning are far rarer than any of the L71
examples. This example with its amazing option list and full
documentation makes it among one of the most desirable and
collectible of any '67 Corvette's ever produced. Truly a special
example that would be the centerpiece of any collection! Additional
