Vehicle Description
We love this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 because it combines a bit of
sleeper car style with the birth of the muscle car. After all,
these Galaxies were known for their big V8 power, but this
turquoise hardtop doesn't give too many indicators that there's a
recently rebuilt 428ci big block monster lurking under the
hood.
The cool pillarless hardtop body sets the tone right because it
helps reinforce the top-of-the-line 500 trim. There's a sleek
profile developed to give these a better NASCAR aerodynamics, and
it also seems to fit with all the brightwork that was inspired by
the jet age. This includes the chrome fins on the front fender,
sweeping side trim, and the afterburner taillights on the tidy rear
end. It's a very vintage look, and the turquoise blue paint just
seems to support this classic attitude. The finish is bright, but
not perfect, and so it fits in with a respected classic appearance.
And so unless people pay attention the competition-style Torq
Thrust wheels or the hint of traction bars you can see, this one
just looks like a classic cruiser. So you can surprise them with
the monster under the hood.
The interior has a nicely done style with good carpeting, a tight
headliner, smooth classic dash, and the artful stock steering
wheel. We especially like the custom seating that has a comfy
velour inserts for where you sit and a stylish turquoise stripe to
coordinate with the exterior. There are useful additions, like the
cup holders and auxiliary gauges under the dash. There's an AM/FM
digital tuner w/cassette for better driving music. But really, we
all know the best soundtrack comes from when you roll down all the
windows on this pillarless hardtop and hear the rumble.
You can instantly tell there was a big investment in the engine bay
from the first moment you lay eyes on this tidy and shining total
package. In fact, we have a receipt from 2018 for $19k this went to
rebuilding this motor. It's an awesome 428 cubic-inch big block.
This is built with the best pieces, including aluminum heads, an
Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock ribbed valve covers, and topped with a
Holley four-barrel carburetor. It has all the right supporting
pieces, like a serpentine belt system, high performance plug wires,
and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. There's even already a
compressor if you choose to add A/C to this one. There's a custom
set of headers that add even more power while it also feeds the
rumbling dual exhaust. The fresh motor makes it a strong package,
and features like power steering and a three-speed automatic
transmission make it easy to tame. Plus, the wide radial tires and
traction bars do a good job of bringing the power to the
pavement.
True vintage style and serious V8 power makes for the ultimate fun
hardtop. So if you love a muscle machine, you know this is
irresistible. Call today!!!
