GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1964 Plymouth Fury
Hardtop Coupe for purchase. The Fury was downsized to start the 3rd
generation in 1962 which was an unpopular move. So the Fury was
elongated each year and 1964 sales saw significant improvement with
the size and new dramatic slanted roofline. The Fury was Plymouth's
full-size and sporty model that dealerships could put on display to
attract customers to their showrooms. The Fury was big, bold, and
contained the best features available.
This '64 Plymouth Fury is in excellent condition and is a really
cool find. It's powered by a 1964 440 Chrysler block with a .030
overbore, with 4.15 stroke-1, 496 cu in, with 10.3 comp ratio, with
Comp Cams HYD. Roller cam, Bulldog aluminum heads with s/s valves.
It has the max wedge intake with Edelbrock carburetors, max wedge
exhaust with 3 inch exhaust system and is estimated to be around
500 HP. The transmission is a 727 manual valve body with a 10 inch
street torque converter. The rear end has a 3.91 posi. The front
brakes have been upgraded with a disc brake conversion kit.
When the car was restored all the trim and chrome was taken off and
restored by Resto specialties in Illinois, the bumpers were
re-chromed as well. All the front suspension was replaced as well.
The car roars to life and is set up very well.
