1949 Mercury Coupe 9CM 255 CID 3 Speed w/Overdrive
Very cool '49 Merc Coupe with the 255 Flathead V8 for the
budget-minded! This is an older restoration, that is overall, ready
to have fun and cruise "as is". We sold it to our current seller
over 20 years ago, and he and his wife of 63 years, are finally
ready to let "Lil Darlin" go to her new home. She's painted in her
original color of Royal Bronze Maroon and the paint has lots of
checking and some chips expected with a restoration and (lacquer?)
paint that is probably over 30 years old. A noted flaw is that the
passenger side door glass is cracked and needs to be replaced. She
has a tan interior, a 3-speed transmission with overdrive, "Unity"
Spot Lights, and Lakepipes! The mileage on the odometer shows
83,962. Overall, she's a great candidate for a refresh of the paint
if the look of an older restoration and "patina" look doesn't work
for you. We are told that 'the undercarriage is solid" and also
that "a magnet holds pretty much all around on the body". She runs
great and drives out well. Send a mechanic in to have a look and
come in to see it in person.
