Vehicle Description
What happens when you take a timeless Chevrolet body, bolt it to a
custom chassis, drop in a modern Chevrolet V8 and pile on a list of
mind-blowing parts? You get one incredible classic that instantly
becomes the center of attention wherever it goes! Featuring a cool
custom appearance, a custom leather interior, and a level of detail
that requires multiple looks to fully comprehend, this sweet Bel
Air is a compilation of top-notch components from some of the
biggest names in the business. And what's better: it's a fully
sorted cruiser that was built, above all else, to be driven and
enjoyed. If you're the kind of enthusiast who wants an impressive
ride that you can hop in, turn the key and sail some blacktop with,
your chariot has arrived!
STYLE, FOR DECADES
Blasted bare and professionally restored by the pros at Franklin,
North Carolina's GT Graphics and Customs, this sweet Bel Air is a
refreshing take on a storied classic. Naturally, a head-turning
profile needs head-turning paint, which, with the help of R-M,
manifested as slick Candy Blue and Metallic Silver two-stage. And
today, this legendary Chevy rolls as one razor-sharp road rocket
that's poised to show and raring to go!
As a collector car enthusiast, you really can't go wrong with any
'50s Chevy. But many folks cherish the streamlined swagger of the
division's '56 model. At the front of this five-six, a polished
grille hangs bowtie-stamped parking lamps between stainless-trimmed
headlights and a polished and guarded bumper. At the top of that
grille, a rolled hood centers a polished Jetbird between a
requisite "V" and tinted glass that's draped in polished frames. At
the base of those frames, electric wipers join small mirrors to
reflect traditional door handles and tight Haartz cloth. At the
sides of that cloth, sculpted rocker guards look great under flashy
trim spears. And at the back of the car, a second polished and
guarded bumper frames an ornate trunk crest, a second polished "V"
and crisp LED taillights.
POWER, FOR MILES
Enact this classic's polished hood supports and you'll find an even
six liters of proven Chevrolet small block that, officially dubbed
the GM LS2, spins smooth horsepower into miles of open-road
reliability! At the front of that aluminum mill, a color-keyed
filter cone funnels wind into a polished tube, which fronts a Candy
Blue GM throttle body. A polished intake sends a finely tuned
mixture of fuel and air into hot 243 heads, which float polished
valve covers under a billet oil cap. Those stock heads cap a stock,
factory-spec rotating assembly. A polished Street & Performance
serpentine drive spins modern power steering under a polished
alternator and a polished AC compressor. Candy Blue coils fire blue
Maxx Performance plug wires, which split coated, factory-spec
exhaust manifolds. A polished Be Cool radiator twins electric
puller fans under a polished support. Details like stainless lines,
trick dipsticks and polished brake components ensure first-class
presentation. And the clean, Candy Blue mill rides in a smooth,
Candy Blue bay.
TRADITION PLUS ABILITY
Park this Bel Air on a lift and you'll find solid floorpans that
frame modern aftermarket components in a crisp coat of Candy Blue
skin. A tough 4L65E 4-speed twists power to a sturdy axle that,
according to the car's owner, spins a posi-traction differential
around fun, 3.42 gears. Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering
leads an Art Morrison Sport GT chassis that's finished with thick
sway bars, tubular control arms and Strange coil-over-shocks. At
the corners, power-assisted calipers clamp a quartet of vented
rotors. Charred dinosaurs traverse large-diameter pipes, which
position mean Magnaflow mufflers in front of boxed and polished
tips. And torque transitions to pavement through chrome US Mags
Standards, which spin 245/45ZR18 Venezia Crusades.
TIME TO CRUISE
Behind the solid-closing doors you'll find a custom leather cockpit
that wraps tons of classic flash in miles of modern flair. Front
and center, four bolstered buckets border a custom, full-length
console. Perched on premium carpet, that leather-wrapped divider
centers a short Lokar shifter behind controls for Vintage Air
conditioning. A Metallic Silver dash hangs ball-milled billet
around Dakota Digital telemetry and a modern Antique Automobile
radio that's made to resemble an original Wonder Bar seeker. Custom
side panels front modern power windows. The driver spins a billet
steering wheel around a polished, tilting column. And naturally,
this Chevy's trunk has been customized to match!
Since so many tri-five enthusiasts seem to be enamored with
double-nickels and five-sevens, this modified mid-year isn't
exactly something you'll see at every show. And its modern
suspension, stylish looks and proven Chevrolet power are sure to
get you noticed no matter where you go. After all, is there
anything better than a drop-top crowd-gatherer that barks through a
rowdy V8 and stares through outrageous aesthetics? We think not!
So, come on in and pick up your turn-key hot rod.
