Built has a high performance 426 Max Wedge tribute from the
crossram to the lightweight bucket seats. It is in exceptional
condition, fit and finish is impressive. I drove it home, the car
perfomed really well.
EXTERIOR: The fit and finish is what really drew me to this car.
The body is absolutely excellent. Rust free metal, laser beam
straight, precision fit panels. Hood, doors and trunk fit square
and flush. You can squat down and look down the sides and they are
straight as an arrow. The factory pinch welds are still showing
around the rear wheel well lips. It has a racing style scoop on the
hood. It's a factory red car and the paint is polished out like a
red mirror. The trim is exceptional too which really makes a
difference. Up front the grill is straight and shiny, the headlight
bezels are a little beat up. The bumper was rechromed. The moldings
down the side are either new or professionally restored. All the
stainless around the windows and roof line was professionally
straightened and polished. The door handles, mirror look new. In
back the tail light panel was restored, bumper was rechromed. the
trim on the trunk and around the lock looks new. New rear window.
The door jambs are painted real slick, has new weather strip and
sill plates. Being a radio delete it does not have an antenna. It
also has 1 wiper with the passenger side plugged off. It rolls on a
set of steel rims with poverty caps and a meaty size BFG tires. It
has a great stance.
INTERIOR: It is completely restored inside and it has some unique
features that go along with the race car theme. It's a radio delete
with a factory plate, heater delete with an extremely rare bezel
and button for ventilation blower, cigarette lighter and sun visor
delete. It has the light weight bucket seats Dodge used in their
race cars. They are the same ones used in a Dodge van and are
stationary. The original bench seat is upholstered to match the
back and is included with the car. There is a racing lap belt on
the driver side. Red carpet looks new and has correct Hurst shifter
coming out of the floor. The instrument panel is mint, metal is
painted nicely, the dash pad is curled. It has a walnut steering
wheel and column mounted tachometer. The door panels and armrests
look new except there are some nicks on the rear panel. The white
headliner is excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The Performance built motor is dressed up as a
426 Max Wedge. It actually has a 440 block. The cross ram intake is
a correct original ($2,000) with dual 4 barrel Edelbrock carbs with
correct air cleaners. It has a set of Doug's headers. All the
components look clean and proper- upgraded dual reservoir master
cylinder, new alternator, has power steering. New battery bolted
down properly and has disconnect switch. Clean metal engine bay
painted gloss red. The fender tag is attached, the matching
production number is stamped on the core support.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All solid metal painted red, has a new rubber
plaid matte on the floor. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are
gloss red.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath this car is exceptionally clean. The metal
appears to be super dry. The floors are clean, you can actually
wipe them with a rag. They've been prepped and sprayed in a
semi-gloss black. The lower rockers still have factory pinch welds
showing. The lower inner quarters are dry metal and still have
clean drain holes. It also has welded in frame rails to prevent
body twist. The front end looks like it has been gone through, has
a lot of new hardware and components. There's new shocks front and
back. Looking up at the motor it is clean. It has extra capacity
oil pan, high torque starter and new flywheel cover. It has an 833
4-speed with new linkage. In back it has an 8 3/4 rear with 3.23
sure grip gears. The brakes have been redone. It is upgraded with
disc in front. I see new hoses and the e-brake assembly looks
complete. The fuel tank looks new. It has a custom exhaust with
crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers.
I think the race car theme is really cool. It certainly has some
real muscle but it is still a car you can drive anywhere. I really
enjoyed driving it. They say that the sound of the motor is music
to their ears, well this one plays a#1 hit song!

virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
