Vehicle Description
1963 Land Rover Series 2 109- An incredibly loved daily driver,
well-sorted, and beautifully maintained classic 1963 Land Rover
Series 2 109 available in Southern California. A great deal of care
and engineering has gone into maintaining this 5-door classic
located in Santa Barbara, CA. There have been many mechanical
upgrades to make the Rover more reliable and easier to drive. It is
equipped with a 4-speed manual w/overdrive and is one of 15,300
wagons produced for the North American market. It will happily
cruise comfortably on the highway at 60-65 mph and get you to where
you need to be. I have receipts and records going back 20 years.
With a major refresh service completed 11/10 & 11/11 2020 (new
driveshafts front & rear along with gear oil and transmission oil
flush). This Land Rover is ready to conquer the backcountry
wineries, your favorite camping spot, or to be used for the perfect
family beach transporter. This Land Rover 109 is outfitted with a
Turner motor that was installed around 2008. The new 2.25 liter
Land Rover engine was built by Turner Engineering in the United
Kingdom. They are the premier source for replacement Rover motors.
The build included a lead-free fitted gas flowed cylinder head with
the piston 040 oversize and main/big end bearing sets are 010
undersize. A recent parabolic suspension was added last year and
rides smoothly about 1.5 inches higher than the stock system. A
full safari rack is included along with the ladder and trailer
hitch. The Alaskan blue metallic paint was done in late 2005, along
with an interior refresh. Other items, 15? white steel wheels,
seating for 10 and it also has the rare dished or deluxe bonnet for
the spare tire. Never used off-road, mainly used as a grocery
getter. I would have no hesitation driving this Rover from
California to Maine and back to California. Adventures are what
Rovers are about. Please Note The Following Vehicle Location is at
