HIGHLIGHTS: Here's something you don't see very often! Chevrolet's
Model A competition! An older restoration in good driver condition,
this Chevrolet Capitol is a great find!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, showing that this
car has been cared for since it was restored. This is a solid old
car that looks pretty darn good for being nearly 100 years old!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The black and gray two-tone paint is an
excellent choice for a pre-war car, and it really sets it apart
from the typical fully black pre-war Model As so many of us are
used to seeing. The paint is in good, glossy condition with a deep
shine and will catch your eye even in a room of more colorful
vehicles! There are some minor imperfections to be found here and
there, but overall the paint is well-kept.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Climbing inside this 1927 Chevrolet
Capitol is like stepping into a time machine! Even the action of
positioning yourself in the driver's seat is a reminder of how
things once were. The seats are in good, usable condition but given
that this car is an older restoration they are showing some wear on
the upper edges and could stand to be recovered if you wanted that
fresh restoration look. The carpet is not factory correct and could
also stand to be replaced. Otherwise, the interior is in good
condition!
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Pop whichever side of the hood you prefer, and
you'll see a period-correct 171 cubic inch Chevrolet 4-cylinder
open pushrod engine. This is one cool engine to see in operation!
Hooked up to a 3-speed manual transmission, this Capitol won't be
winning any races any time soon. This car was driven to our
location.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The simple fact that it's not a
Model A Ford!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're looking for a freshly
restored show car, as nice as this one is it is simply not
that.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? While this car has seen a restoration, it
appears to have been quite some time ago and it wouldn't hurt to go
over it before putting it on the road. Additionally, there is no
ignition key, so the ignition is currently wired to an ON/OFF
switch.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking for an unusual,
affordable, classic American car should consider this Chevy!
