Vehicle Description
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Zora Arkus-Duntov (December 25, 1909 - April 21, 1996) was a
Belgian-born American engineer whose work on the Chevrolet Corvette
earned him the nickname "Father of the Corvette." He is sometimes
erroneously referred to as the inventor of the Corvette, whereas
that title belongs to Harley Earl. He was also a successful racing
driver, taking class victories in 1954 and 1955 24 Heures du
Mans.
For consignment, a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette with Magnetic Red 2
Metallic paint, a black manual convertible top and custom chromed
wheels and wider new Michelin tires, and snazzy big disc brakes and
gray calipers. Inside full leather jacket seats and a heads-up
display projecting on the windshield. This C5 excellent condition
convertible 'Vette is just the ticket if you are looking for a car
to be the new apple of your eye.
Exterior
Magnetic Red 2 Metallic drapes the exterior of this sculpted
fiberglass car. Exterior add ons include heated outside mirrors,
manual folding top with rear glass and defroster, halogen headlamps
and driving lights for extra night time visibility, and chrome oval
exhaust tips, to go with the oval lights on the tail. A black
convertible canvas top is like new, and polished Z06 aluminum
wheels are all around and wrapped in wide 275/35ZR18's on front and
305/30ZR19's on back. When the top is down a beautiful molded body
matching red cowl formed to the seats covers it and looks just
fabulous! A walk around and not only will you be impressed, but
you'll be seeing red.
Interior
Black leather, power adjustable, high back buckets embroidered with
"Corvette" name await you. You'll notice on the driver's seat there
is wonderful aging with slight folds of age and light use. Sliding
in through the keyless entry system, will put you into a cockpit
with an AM/FM/ Single CD sound system with Bose Speakers, dual zone
electronic A/C and heat controls, a drivers info center on the dash
above the console, cruise control, and power locks and power
windows. Also, a heads up display projects onto the windscreen if
you like. Black carpeting is covering the floors and in back that
fiberglass cowl tonneau cover has a center post that works its way
down to the center console, which then races through the buckets.
This car looks fast even on the inside.
Drivetrain
Speaking of fast, we turn our attention to the heart of the matter
in the 5.7 Liter LS-1 fuel injected V8 nestled under the forward
tipping hood, in a clean engine bay, is attached to a 4-speed 4L60E
electronic automatic transmission, and for the rear axle a 2.73
ratio. All capable of producing a nice 350 horses to the rear
wheels. I'm blasting through this yellow light, hold on!
Undercarriage
Very clean, nothing but black painted steel and stainless steel.
Very sound with no rust or surface rust. Active handling, traction
control, and 4-wheel power disc brakes with ABS are noted, along
with traction control and a tire pressure monitor.
Drive-Ability
Runs like you are on your way to a 4 alarmer! Ah yes, a fast car
for sure, handles like it's on rails, stops on a dime, and offers
up comfort and convenience for the driver and passenger alike. All
working, all wonderful, all metallic red.
Turn the key and you're off like a prom dress, a red streak if you
will. Little red Corvette lookin snappy, and a convertible!
