This gorgeous Mercury Phaeton is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful Ford products ever built. This car has been restored and updated with 12 volt power, new paint and upholstery. and repowered with a Chevrolet V8 engine. It is being sold by the family of a local collector and here are the appraiser's comments from a 2018 appraisal: The 1940 Mercury Phaeton described herein represented a very good overall example of a
traditional Hot Rod conversion.
While retaining the basic external looks and characteristics of this seventy eight year old
classic automobile, this extremely rare '40 Mercury Phaeton looks just as if it were custom
fabricated way back in the late fifties and early sixties.
With features such as a small block Chevy motor, and a custom
upholstered interior.
