For 1968 the Corvette sported a completely redesigned body and
interior. The results were a sleek, curvaceous body that was an
instant hit. Typical for Corvette, the aggressive bodywork covered
the potent engine underneath. The power plant of this 1968 Corvette
convertible is the legendary L71 427ci V8 big block with the L89
option that added aluminum cylinder heads and produced a staggering
435hp, mated to the close-ratio 4-speed manual and 3:55
posi-traction rear axle. Only 624 of these L89 Corvettes were ever
produced. The LeMans Blue paint and bright blue interior are both
in great condition. A soft-top-delete roadster, the Corvette
convertible is equipped with a removeable auxiliary hardtop. From
top to bottom, this Corvette coupe has every detail carefully
worked out and performs just as good as it looks. A plethora of
historical documents is included with the car, including the
original Tank Sticker, original Protect-O-Plate warranty booklet,
original owner's manual, original Retail Installment Contract, copy
of the original car invoice as well as a multitude of ownership and
service records. Equipment includes three Holley 2-barrel
carburetors, special-performance camshaft, 4-wheel disc brakes,
transistor ignition system, AM/FM radio and tinted glass.
