Please visit www.Survivor-Cars.com for additional photos,
information and a video. You are looking at a one of a kind 1951
Buick Special Deluxe Restomod. The exterior looks pretty stock
until you take a closer look and see that the door and trunk
handles have been shaved. Hit some buttons on the dash and this
beauty just about rests on the ground via the Air Ride suspension.
The curvaceous exterior of this Buick has been painted in a
stunning Deep Red Metallic that pairs nicely with the endless
chrome these Buicks are known for. Hit a button on the key fob, or
the hidden release under each front fender to open the doors and
reveal the custom gray interior. Power bucket seats in a two-tone
Gray straddle a custom center console with controls for the Air
Ride, cruise control and Vintage Air A/C. New gauges look right at
home behind the chrome tilt steering column with Budnik steering
wheel. The A/C is a nice slimline unit which fits under the dash
and looks like it could have been installed at the Buick factory.
Custom door panels, rear panels and rear seat treatment all tie
together nicely. There are seat belts for all of your passengers to
ride safely. This Buick also comes with 2 custom "51 Buick" folding
chairs for car shows and a Buick hat. It's a real car show starter
kit! Those tuck nicely in the custom upholstered and carpeted
trunk, which also features hidden storage compartments. The build
was started with a rust free 1951 Buick, which was then placed on a
1966 Buick Riviera chassis. The 1966 Buick 425 Nailhead engine was
retained and rebuilt. It has also recently received some
maintenance including valve cover gaskets, intake and tunnel
gaskets. It is mated to a rebuilt 200R4 4-speed automatic
transmission which runs to a 2-piece driveshaft and out to a Ford
9" rear end. With 2.08 gears and a 4-speed, this baby is a dream to
cruise, even at highway speeds. A lot of thought went into this
build with hidden door poppers, hidden battery charging posts and
even using a factory original knob to power the compressor for the
Air Ride system. It is a really a build like no other. If you're
looking for a unique street rod with all the bells and whistles
that will make you stand out at a car show, this 51 Buick should be
on the top of your list! This vehicle is eligible for an Extended
