Vehicle Description
This 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a rare offering where Ford
re-launched a legendary name in a big way. So while you'll love the
awesome color combo and loaded A/C interior, it's really the
32-valve fuel-injected 305 hp V8 that you'll cherish the most.
Oxford White is a timeless color, and the finish here has the
glossy look of good care. Not only is this believed to be the
original application, but it's also especially nice to have on this
coupe. 2003 was the first year of the special two-year Mach 1 run,
and this color was the rarest with only 814 examples produced. Not
only are you buying instant rarity with the one, but it also has a
striking look. The Mach 1 package is done in black, and so it's the
highest contrast look against the white on the chin spoiler, rocker
stripes, hood stripe, and full-width rear spoiler. And even the
iconic hood shaker is done in black. This one turns its dark side
up a notch with a deep tint on the headlights and windows. Even the
upgraded 17-inch American Muscle wheels have some added black in
their background. It all makes for an intimidating and
well-coordinated package.
The odometer is believed to reflect the car's full actual mileage,
and so the less use means less seat time. So you have a well
preserved interior that's also loaded. It includes the best in
modern features, like cold-blowing air conditioning, power windows,
dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, cup holders, electric rear defrost,
cruise control, and a premium AM/FM stereo with built-in CD
changer. The leather seats have a cool connection to the classic
Mach 1 cars with the silver accents and comfort weave-style
inserts. Yours power adjusts to the ideal driving position. And the
leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel gives you an excellent view of
another Mach 1 exclusive... the backlit gauges are finished to look
like a first-gen Mustang.
The Mach 1 was special for another reason: horsepower. This DOHC
32-valve 4.6-liter V8 was upgraded right from the factory. This
included a twin-bore 57mm throttle body, high-flow heads, a special
setup on the camshafts, and a performance exhaust manifold. The
result is a 305 horsepower juggernaut. Plus, this one has some nice
upgrades, like a K&N air intake system and an Optima red top
battery. Ford engineers also took the time to add a host of
suspension improvements front and rear to make this an enhanced
driver for the enhanced performance V8. In fact, this is a nice
all-around driving classic. For example, the four-speed automatic
transmission is great for quick kick-downs into power as well as
easy overdrive cruising. Plus, there's power steering, four-wheel
disc brakes, and grippy Nitto NT555 tires with excellent tread.
This car has a rare look, aggressive style, performance heart, and
a terrific price. So you know you need this Mach 1 in your garage.
