Vehicle Description
This triple-black 1962 Corvette Resto-Mod is powered by a new GM
LS7 427ci V8 engine that puts out 505hp and 470 ft/lbs of torque
connected to a 4L75E automatic transmission. The powder-coated Art
Morrison GT chassis includes compact independent rear suspension
and features coilovers with adjustable ride height. Stopping power
is provided by a Wilwood big-brake package. This project started
with a two-owner, no-hit body, which sat in storage since 1976. The
paint was stripped off with the plastic media-blasting system. The
body is finished with polyester primer by Evercoat and topped off
with BASF Diamont Jet-Black base coat/clear coat paint. This
Resto-Mod includes a complete leather interior, featuring reclining
custom seats for added head and leg room. The steering column was
moved forward for additional comfort, and Vintage Air handles
interior heating and cooling. The instrument cluster was upgraded
to Dakota Digital HDX analog instruments, which include an electric
actuated hood opener and a Bluetooth AM/FM Wonder Bar radio. This
car includes power windows, electric parking brake and a power
convertible top. Fuel is supplied by a GM ZL1 fuel pump in a custom
Rick's stainless-steel fuel tank, and all fuel and transmission
lines are Kevlar braided lines. Cooling is provided by a custom
DeWitt radiator, and exhaust flows through the custom Ultimate
headers finished in silver ceramic coating complete with
stainless-steel exhaust. The car rides on custom Schott wheels
wrapped with Nitto NT555 tires. With over 1,500 man-hours invested
in the build, which was completed in November 2020, and driven 200
test miles since completion, this triple-black 'Vette is finished
for show and built to be driven.
