Vehicle Description
This 1957 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery takes the iconic style we all
love, and then adds in all the right investments. The super-slick
two-tone, shining small block V8, overdrive transmission, upgraded
suspension, and custom/comfy A/C interior are all part of a
restoration that was all done with an eye for quality.
A true Sedan Delivery has an instant distinction. After all, you
get the two-door style similar to a Nomad, but with the sleeker
look of the wraparound side panels. And there were less than 7,300
of these made. So when we think of how rare the iconic '57 Bel Air
convertibles are, the sedan delivery is nearly six times rarer!
That's why this example has been treated to two restorations in the
past two decades. In fact, the last one was completed in 2016.
That's why this whole car looks so fresh and vibrant. The custom
Candy Brandywine and Silver Metallic is a professional application
using top-quality House of Kolors paints. These might be high
contrast color, but there's an even shine that unites them and
really loves to show off the car's well-done sheetmetal. Plus, the
side trim was part of the big restoration investment, so you get
the iconic style looking bright as it provides a clear dividing
line for the two colors. The whole package is done to be bright,
that's why you have upgrades like the crystal-clear headlight and
polished Torq Thrust wheels joining the mirror-like shine of the
'57 Chevy's legendary front end.
The interior is a well-done package that gives you vintage style
with all the right fresh upgrades integrated. For example, the
split-bench seat is a true classic, but the headrests and cloth
inserts add a new leave of comfort. There's new glass, tinted
windows, and weatherstripping. And the Dynamat insulation really
adds to a solid and quality feel. There's more great upgrades like
the retro-style AM/FM digital tuner that features modern Bluetooth,
a custom center console, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning.
This has a terrific driver-oriented setup with a Lokar floor
shifter, auxiliary readouts, SunPro tach, large AutoMeter Pro-Comp
speedo, and a Lecarra sports steering wheel mounted on an Ididit
tilt column. The custom oak wood floor of the rear cargo section
has the highly detailed look of a stately manor (even the spare
tire is hidden below a secret sliding panel.) So you know this one
has its heavy cargo days behind it. Instead, the one-piece wagon
door makes this a nice covered spot to sit on the back and enjoy
the day at the car show.
The engine bay is painted the same metallic silver as the exterior,
but inside here, there's even more shine coming off the motor. And
while we dare you to find another component that could be polished,
there's also real substance behind the style. It's a 350 cubic-inch
V8 where the under 8k on the odometer show how few miles this has
gone since being rebuilt. It has a full Edelbrock upgraded package
that includes the four-barrel carburetor, intake, ribbed valve
covers, and a matching air topper. And you'll also spot all the
right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system, steel
braided lines, AN fittings, an Optima battery, and an aluminum
radiator w/electric fans. Headers add power while also giving a
sweet rumble to the dual exhaust. And while you're checking out
those pipes in the undercarriage photos, don't forget to notice how
clean this car is over every inch. It was also built to be an
all-around great cruiser with power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and sway bars front & rear. Plus, the four-speed automatic
transmission has highway-friendly overdrive for easy driving near
or far.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos.
