1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Car History
We have a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette that is about as fine a
first-generation Corvette restoration with outstanding colors of
red on red as you will ever find.
A 1962 has that classic C1 feeling and always looks great in red,
but the one we have here at Adventure Classics really pops.
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 1968 327 cubic inch engine with 300 horsepower
from the factory (Engine Stamping number #3914660) that looks as it
did when new with its chrome finned air cleaner, orange painted
engine block, Corvette script valve covers, high-rise aluminum
intake, four-barrel carburetor, cast iron factory "Rams Head"
exhaust manifolds leading back to the dual exhaust, chrome ignition
shielding, with the engine sitting in a clean, detailed, and era
correct engine compartment.
It is backed by a four-speed manual transmission that shifts very
smoothly and rides on iconic Chevrolet Corvette hubcap equipped
wheels and whitewall tires.
Interior
These early Corvettes always had great interior styling and our
1962 is no exception. Ours has a very nice matching red interior
featuring twin red vinyl buckets seats recessed into their
surroundings with new-looking carpeting, stock red Corvette sports
steering wheel, a dash area filled with the factory gauges in the
instrument cluster, and the dual cowl dash.
It also has all the matching red door panels, seatbelts, floor
mats, waterfall, and even has a great trunk area that is nice with
freshly painted walls and a red trunk mat.
Exterior
The 1962 Corvette closed out its generation but still had styling
refinements like the grille sitting in between a pair of smaller
grilles, the twin dual headlights, ducktail rear, and the twin
taillight design which ours has with a bright red paint job flowing
over all the body panels.
All the chrome on the grill, bumpers, and trim is great and it has
a bright white
vinyl convertible top on it to use or drive it with the top down
depending on the weather.
Conclusion
If you are a serious Corvette collector then the 1962 Chevrolet
Corvette we have here at Adventure Classics is a must-have. It
represents the end of a Corvette Era and will only continue to
increase in value in the coming years.
