Vehicle Description
1981 DeLorean DMC-12 automatic (rare) was sold new at Brooks Biddle
Chevrolet in Bothell, Washington. It is finished in a custom
two-tone black and gold finish, which was reportedly applied by the
selling dealer at the original owner's request. It was acquired in
1989 by the second owner, a Delorean enthusiast and engineer by
trade, with whom it remained until 2018. I purcahsed it from the
third owner two years ago and now have to sell it. Power comes from
a 2.85-liter PRV V6 paired with a three-speed automatic
transmission. Brooks Biddle Chevrolet was reportedly offering
in-house DeLorean painting when the cars were new in an effort to
move leftover inventory. The gold and black scheme was reportedly
chosen by the first owner, who was an avid Nascar fan and inspired
Smokey Yunick's race cars. The glass is intact and remains in good
condition. The PO has installed a new set of tires on the 14?
diameter front and 15? rear cast alloy wheels. All four brake
calipers have been fitted with new seals , and the system has been
flushed with fresh fluid. The black and grey interior remains
stock. The A/C compressor is disconnected. An original spare tire,
jack, and toolkit remain with the car. The car is a driver. It
starts, runs and drives well. All fluids are up to date. Engine
sounds great, transmission shifts through gears, No warning lights.
