Vehicle Description
Unwavering patriotism, absolute 4x4 prowess, and the biggest
rolling icon around - there are plenty of explanations to want this
diesel-powered 1994 AM General M998 Humvee. And the affordable
price just adds to the reasons why you already love this true
go-anywhere machine.
The wide stance, camo paint, wide brush guard, and dual whip
antennas are all instant indicators that this is no Chevy-sized
Hummer... it's a true HMMWV. And there's a whole new level of
appeal when you dealing with a real ex-military Humvee. It's the
kind of 4x4 that has proven itself on a global scale, and so
there's no doubt it can get everyone and their gear to the hunting
camp. And because this one has already been properly decommissioned
and registered for the road, you'll also have no trouble leading
any parades this spring. So a vehicle that was built for
adaptability for the military can remain quite versatile in its
civilian life, too.
The interior is built for the kind of robustness that can last
generations. Thick glass gauges, metal switches, and a steel dash
are true military-grade strength. There are some nice pieces you
may not expect, like the high-back bucket seats up front, a metal
laptop table in-between, and proper belts for all four seats. The
canvas roof is fully removable, and so are the doors. So you might
not be buying this for a pure fun-in-the-sun machine, but there's
something undeniably cool about rolling up on Jeep CJs and
literally looking down on those no-door riders. Plus, with the
canvas removed from the rear section, that wide cargo bed in the
back can now also reach all the way up to the driver's seat. So
while a pickup can bring you home some long lumber, this one can
just about handle full roof trusses!
We love a diesel Humvee. The 6.2-liter unit idles with the deep
chug like a broad shoulder American Bulldog that's just sitting on
the porch and just waiting his turn to pounce. When you tilt the
hood forward, the full setup still looks military-grade, but this
GM motor has been in service long enough that you don't need army
credentials or clearance to find your readily available spare
parts. These diesels are the best for a torque-filled package, so
you have a terrific low-end for the best 4x4 off-road work. And
with the sturdy brush guard, high air intake, true beadlock wheels,
and a ton of travel on the fully independent suspension it's going
to be its own challenge just to find a terrain that can stop you.
There's even a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering,
and power four-wheel disc brakes to make sure that you don't have
to work hard to enjoy this hard-working Humvee to its fullest.
This is not a vehicle for the average commuter. But it's perfect
for everything from promoting your business to forging a new trail,
and we know you already have a million uses for it in mind. Call
