DeVille which has been owned by our client for the past 13 years.
He and his wife have been longtime members of the Classic Car Club
of America and the Cadillac LaSalle Club and have enjoyed a
beautiful collection of important cars. With the exception of paint
color change, this Cadillac is completely original and a survivor.
This Coupe DeVille spent much of its early life in and around Grand
Rapids, MI. In 2007, its current owner purchased the car with just
26,000 miles, and shortly thereafter brought the vehicle to Tucson,
Arizona, where it has live since. Originally painted Colonial
Yellow (5036L), this Cadillac was repainted a vibrant fire engine
red by the previous owner. Despite the age of the paint job, it
shows quite well. Since arriving in Arizona, this Coupe DeVille has
been very well cared for and driven a mere 13,000 miles in the last
13 years. Interestingly, a dealer sticker was found in the glovebox
from Harvey Cadillac Company of Grand Rapids, MI. The sticker shows
the car sold in 2002 with 21,955 miles, suggesting the previous
owner only drove it about 4,000 miles over 5 years. This Cadillac
has been very well maintained, which is supported by the abundance
of paperwork and service receipts (see supporting photo). Though
certainly more of a driver's quality, rather than show car, this
Coupe DeVille did win First Place Touring Class in the Cadillac
LaSalle Grand National Meet Las Vegas 2016. Though it is now about
a 13-year old repaint, this car still shows beautifully and runs
very nicely. The bright red (paint code unknown) has shine and
luster, but is not without some minor cracking, particularly just
below the C-Pillar, as shown in the inspection report. The cracking
is not very deep, and likely from paint being applied too thick in
that area. That being said, it is very hard to notice, and likely
would only be detected by an astute eye. The chrome and stainless
overall are in very good to excellent condition, with lots of shine
and very few imperfections. Today this Coupe DeVille would perform
well at local and regional car shows and touring events. The
interior is overall very well preserved. The attractive white or
cream leather with black carpet and dash are tasteful and are
complete with six-way power operated 60/40 split front seats. The
dash, door panels and headliner are overall very good. The driver's
door is missing a light cover by the release handle. The front
leather seats have some minor cracking, but no rips or stains and
remain soft and supple. There are multiple, small nicks in the door
armrest material on both doors. Nearly all interior components work
as they should, including the radio and power operated antenna. In
fact, the only thing we noted inoperable was the clock. It was also
noted by the owner that the fuel gauge is inaccurate below 1/4
tank, however we were unable to prove this. The AM/FM stereo and
automatic antenna work well. The white vinyl top is also believed
to be original and overall very good. There are some very small
tears at the bottom of the C-Pillar, but otherwise it is free of
blemishes and a very true, bright white color. We show these small
imperfections in the photo gallery. The monstrous 472 CID V8
produces 375 hp and 525 ft. lbs. of torque. Needless to say, this
Coupe DeVille provides a smooth and effortless driving experience.
The overall mechanical condition of this Cadillac is very good. The
A/C blows cold and strong, though the heater does not work. The
heater core developed a leak, and instead of ripping out the dash,
the owner chose to simply bypass the hoses. Beyond that, this
Cadillac is ready to be enjoyed. Though we recommend an oil change
and normal servicing before extensive use. The chassis shows that
it is rust free (with minimal normal surface rust present), and
there is some red over-spray in certain areas as seen in the photo
gallery. Nonetheless, it is in nice condition today for touring and
general use. It also comes with an extra set of keys and an owners
manual. Details about this Cadillac's condition are included in the
158-point third party inspection which is published as part of this
listing, and it is available for viewing at our Phoenix showroom.
The Hagerty Price Guide reflects a No. 3 value of $12,400 and a No.
2 value of $19,200. We believe this to be closer to a 3 given its
condition. For details and information, please text, call or email
