There's a Mystique Surrounding America's First Muscle Car. Engineers John DeLorean, Bill Collins, and Russ Gee Snuck The GTO To Dealers As A LeMans Option Kit. Ad Man Jim Wangers Did A Bang-Up Job Promoting Sales Of This GTO Option, And The Car Carved Its Own Market Niche. The GTO Package Included A Big-Car 389 V-8 And Some Special Appearance Items In Place Of Regular LeMans Trim.
