Vehicle Description
Distinct, intimidating, and genuinely rugged, this diesel-powered
1994 Land Rover Defender 90 is the ideal 4x4 to let you make your
own path through this world.
This has the right look you want for a true rugged SUV. The color
could be called British Racing Green, but on a machine like this,
it just looks like it wants to blend in with a pine tree forest.
Plus, there's plenty of black accenting to show off the most robust
pieces. It includes the steel front bumper with integrated push
bar, deep water snorkel, metal fender tops, fender flares, and
Range Rover-like wheels with deep tread off road tires (including
the full-size spare on the rear.) It really shows it's the ideal
mix of earthy and intimidating. It's all part of a look that's far
from a trailer queen, and that's for a very good reason. This was
independently imported from Britain. That means you get features
never offered here that make this a better choice for true
off-roading.
One great feature of a UK import is the look people give you when
they see you getting in on the "passenger" side. Yes, it's
right-hand drive! The Defender 90 might have a timeless appeal, but
it has been one of the most recent chapter in Land Rover's
globetrotting book. So you get the traditional robustness with some
of the best upgrades. It starts with better high-back bucket seats
up front with comfy cloth upholstery and a middle jump seat.
There's also a well-integrated upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with aux
input and Bluetooth. It's a full metal roof setup, which is another
desirable trait for true off-roading. The rear has durable
carpeting and two sets of facing rear benches. So you get to choose
between seating more people than a Jeep and having a place for
secure cargo.
The big reason to import a Defender is under the hood. We all know
diesel provides the best torque to get you through Mother Nature,
and we were never offered them in the USA. So it's great to see a
2.5-liter fuel-injected motor under the hood. This powerplant has
earned a tough-as-nails reputation from the Scottish Highlands to
Gibraltar, and because this has been a long-standing British motor,
the parts are also widely available. In fact, this shows it has
been under the right maintenance (including an EGR delete according
to the consignor) so it remains a hardy powerhouse. The five-speed
manual transmission is a smooth shifter that gives you full control
over the diesel power. Plus, the high ground clearance, the
two-speed 4x4 transfer case, and deep tread tires assures that you
can keep going even when the trail ends. But there's more to this
Defender. The power steering, power brakes, and front discs remind
you that go-anywhere also means having everyday appeal.
The Defender platform is part of one of the grandest traditions in
4x4s. That means this robust diesel Land Rover was built with the
skill to remain tough, and there's plenty of aftermarket companies
who easily let you make it even tougher. So you get to look
stylishly different AND have added ability. And for the right
select few, that's exactly what we're looking for. Call
