For Sale: 1961 Chevrolet Impala SS in Greenwood, Indiana
From our museum collection is this extremely rare and correct 1961
Impala SS WZ car with the factory 409/409hp motor, dual four barrel
carburetors and a four speed manual transmission!!! There were less
than 500 real 1961 Impala SS cars built in '61 and very few were
the 409/409HP version!!! This car was featured in the January 1996
edition of Chevy High Performance magazine. It has it's original
window sticker and a very interesting history from new! It was sold
new at Modern Chevrolet in Lubbock, Texas late in 1961 to a young
man that wanted a new Corvette when he graduated from high school.
His father wouldn't let him so he ordered the next best thing which
is this SS!!! We have many photos of the car undergoing restoration
years ago along with the complete ownership history of the car from
new. It truly is an extremely rare Impala SS and would be a great
addition to any serious car collection!!!
