Whether exploring the grasslands of the Serengeti, taking a Saturday drive near Lake Michigan or hauling surfboards to the beach in Malibu the Land Rover Series 2A is the definition of British cool, and this is a fine example of the iconic rig. This 1969 Series 2A 88 has a removable hardtop. The windshield can be swung down onto the hood and the doors easily removed for the ultimate fresh air drive. The original gas-powered 2.25-liter 4-cylinder engine starts on a dime and runs well. The engine has been tended to with regular maintenance with a number of recent updates and repairs, listed below. It’s also equipped with a manual 4-speed transmission, 2-speed transfer case, 4-wheel drive and has seating for seven. As seen in the photos, the body is great shape. These SUVs were built with aluminum bodies, so no rust! There are only a few minor surface scratches but otherwise the panels are flat and straight. The front seats and rear bench seats are in good shape with no rips or splits. The bench seats in the back fold up for more cargo space.
In 2018 the Rover was treated to a respray in the original factory Light Green and the undercarriage with a black seal coat.

“The Series IIA is considered by many the most hardy series model constructed. It is quite possibly also the type of classic Land Rover that features strongly in the general public's perception of the Land Rover, from its many appearances in popular films and television documentaries set in Africa throughout the 1960s, such as Born Free.”
