Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this absolutely
stunning and completely frame-off restored 1967 Corvette Sting Ray
Convertible with the high performance L71 427ci/435hp big block
engine, 4-Speed transmission, side pipes, power steering, power
brakes, and redline tires. The car is finished in the gorgeous and
highly desirable color combination of Rally Red (974) over Red
Leather (408). Red/Red is an iconic on this body style Corvette and
for many years has been considered to be the most sought-after
color. This is the correct color combination according to the codes
on the trim tag pictured in this ad.
There are close-up photos in this ad of the VIN stamp on the engine
block, engine assembly date, engine block casting date, VIN tag,
trim tag, VIN stamp on the transmission main case, transmission
assembly date, transmission main case casting number, transmission
tail housing casting number, transmission side cover casting
number, intake casting number, and the carburetor part numbers and
date codes for all three carburetors for any potential buyer or
professional to analyze.
According to previous owner this car was treated to a complete "nut
and bolt" restoration from D & A Corvette Restorations in Illinois.
D & A Corvette is highly respected in the Corvette community and is
one of the most knowledgeable and best in the industry for Corvette
restoration. This 1967 has been used sparingly since the
restoration and the odometer shows just 5,298 miles. The previous
owner said that the odometer was reset to zero when the car was
restored. The previous owner is a very close friend of the
dealership. He is a hardcore car enthusiast with many other
Corvettes, Ferraris, and other classics in his collection.
This Corvette looks utterly stunning, runs terrifically, and is an
absolutely thrilling driver with the 427 cubic inch engine and 435
horsepower that is ready to be enjoyed. There is no way a similar
Corvette could be built or restored for anything near our asking
price. 1967 is considered to be the best year for the Corvette and
this 427ci435hp in Red/Red is the ultimate example of that model
year. The market on C2 Corvettes is hot right now and on the rise,
especially for premium and rare cars like this one; one could
easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase
price in years to come. Please peruse all of the photos, video,
numbers, and other information below to get a true sense of how
exceptional this Corvette really is.
As a side note, this Sting Ray is not a dealer auction vehicle. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have
the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.
We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Rally Red exterior is in beautiful condition. As one can see in
the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth
finish. The rally wheels are in excellent condition with a
brilliant finish and no curb rash. The tires are Coker Classic
redline radials with plenty of tread left. These tires offer the
best of both worlds with the vintage look of the redlines, but the
modern performance and handling of a radial. The chrome is in
excellent condition with a bright finish and no cloudiness,
scratches, or pitting. The convertible top looks in person as it
does in the photos with no rips or frayed edges; there is a spot of
wear on the lower section right behind the right window. The rear
window is not yellowed or foggy. There is very light checking in
the paint in certain spots, which was hard to even capture in the
photos. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the
car, this Corvette is totally solid and looks great. The bottom of
the car is exceptionally clean and correct with appropriate
markings; the car looks nearly as good underneath as it is on
top.
Interior
The Red Leather interior in this Sting Ray is in absolutely
outstanding condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no
split seams, rips, or excessive wear, only a small amount of wear
in the typical spot on the driver's bolster. The seats are not worn
in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is
also in good condition with no tears, rips, or holes. This includes
the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The gauge faces are
crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in
terrific shape; there are no cracks in the typical spot where the
driver's elbow sits. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash
and console look great with no cracks or sun fading. The original
radio works and gets good reception. Most importantly the dash has
never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. This
Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no
aroma of cigarettes at all.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in great mechanical condition. This car
is pure excitement out on the road. Please view the video to hear
one of the best exhaust notes in the classic car industry, a big
block Corvette engine with sidepipes. The car starts right away
every time, runs well, and idles well. The car drives terrifically
on the road and highway. In the video one can observe the car
accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, braking to
stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there
are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well
overall. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car.
The clutch feels good, the transmission is very tight, and does not
pop out of gear. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one
side or the other. The engine runs cool and does not overheat. The
gauge shows the engine makes great oil pressure. This Corvette has
plenty of power and is exceptionally fast with the L71 427ci
engine. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean,
detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, and
wipers. The headlights go up and down properly, which is a very
common problem on second generation Corvette. The complete
headlight operation can be viewed in the video. The blower for
heater does not always work. Not enough can be said as to how much
of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the 4-Speed,
the extra power from the L71, the sound of the sidepipes, and the
top down out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1967 427c 435hp big block Corvette convertible is in
marvelous condition. As stated above, there are photos in this ad
of the VIN tag, trim tag, VIN stamp on the engine block, engine
assembly date, engine block casting date, VIN stamp on the
transmission main case, transmission assembly date, transmission
main case casting number, transmission tail housing casting number,
transmission side cover casting number, intake casting number, and
the carburetor part numbers and date codes for all three
carburetors for any potential buyer or professional to analyze. We
cannot verify the authenticity or originally of these numbers or
stampings, we are simply relaying what is on the car. This is truly
an investment grade classic car. The value and market on second
generation or "mid-year" Corvettes has always been solid, ...for
