Vehicle Description
Nice 1930 FORD MODEL A TUDOR -The primary reason the current owner
bought this car was to go through it from one end to the other in
order to study and enhance its design, it's just what he has done
his whole life with all kinds of automobiles as a hobby. He is a
very neat, organized, picky and patient mechanic with an A&P
license who works as a Mechanical Engineer on the Space Program. He
takes a lot of pride in taking his time to do things the right way
and anyone who has ever bought one of his automobiles when he is
through with them has been VERY HAPPY. Although this car was in
very good shape when he bought it, he spent about 2 or 3 months
going through it from one end to the other and has truly enjoyed
the experience and the history lesson. He noticed a few things that
bothered him when he first drove the car, there was a lot of heat
coming from the firewall into the cabin, the drivers seat was way
to close to the dash and there was no water temperature gage on the
instrument panel. So he installed a water temperature gage,
installed dual sided reflective and padded thermal barrier
insulation under the entire interior floormats and purchased and
installed some 2 inch extensions for the front drivers seat. All
the fluids have been changed, zerk fittings greased, and 30w oil
applied where required . He rewired the entire car with an original
wiring harness. He installed a 6 volt Battery Tendor that comes
with the car. The other Model A folks told him that the 20 amp fuse
was supposed to be removed whenever you parked the car for long
periods of time or else the battery would drain down so he
installed a heavy duty battery ON/OFF switch to take care of that
problem. He pulled all the brake drums and all the pads are like
new. He adjusted the brakes and re-packed both the front and rear
wheel bearings. Also rebuilt the carburetor and also had all 4
tires balanced. As far as drivability goes he is amazed at how well
this car performs on the road.
