Preferably a Ford from the Great Depression Era? We have one here
at MotoeXotica. This ?34 Ford Model 40 sports an older, respectable
restoration, a stiffened frame and upgraded suspension. This all
steel hot-rod would make a great jumping off point for a newer
restoration on a now impossible to find overall original steel 1934
Ford. Finished in a Strawberry Red, the car?s paint and trim are in
very good order but there are some minor imperfections visible at
close range, which is understandable as the restoration was
reportedly done sometime during the 1980s. The steel body body
remains straight and solid but note that there is only a driver?s
side windshield wiper. The rubberized roof, common to this era of
car, is in present and there are dual taillights in the rear. The
engine bay is in good, original condition and its Optima battery
looks new. This hotrod rolls on radials in front, size 165/80R15
and Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR tires in back. Each tire is
mounted on American Racing five-spoke rims. The tires are in very
good shape while the wheels are in satisfactory order. The
suspension consists of Super Bell hub to hub front axle and
hairpins (Pete and Jake?s). Under that vented and V-shaped hood is
a 289 CID Ford V-8 with Mickey Thompson valve covers, dual exhausts
and other upgrades. Married to the motor is a Ford C4 three-speed
automatic transmission and an nine-inch rear end. Inside, is a
white, quilted vinyl interior. The front and rear seats are in very
good shape, as is the contrasting black carpet and white headliner.
There is plenty of room for a couple of friends or to take the
children for ice cream in style. A four-spoke LeCarra steering
wheel is mounted on a 1980s era GM steering column, complete with
tilt option. The inner door liners bear the same pattern and color
as the upholstery while the red metal instrument panel with a full
array of Stewart Warner gauges but the fuel gauge fluctuates. A
column-mounted shift lever completes the interior. For 1934,
noticeable changes included a flatter grille with a wider surround
and fewer bars, straight hood louvers, two handles on each side of
the hood, smaller head lights and cowl lamps, and a reworked logo.
The bare metal dash insert was replaced by painted steel. If you?ve
ever desired a hot rod or, if you?re looking to add the collection
of them you already have, check out this ?34 Ford hotrod today at
