Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1972 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Liter
Saloon. Finished in British Racing Green over biscuit hides, this
Series I XJ6 was restored in 1992 by a marque enthusiast and
officer in the Atlanta Jaguar Society; it remained in his care for
nearly three decades until his passing.
The restoration consisted of a repaint in the correct color, some
rust repair along with new interior trimmings - it has been garaged
since and has held up well. Although we would call the paint driver
quality, it has a nice shine and the body is very straight. The
refreshed interior shows well with soft leather, nice carpets, door
cards and dash. The A/C is not blowing cold and will require
servicing - other items such as gauges, lights and heater blower
working.
Powered by Jag's 4.2 liter twin-cam inline six fed through twin
Stromberg carburetors, the engine has low mileage on a rebuild - it
starts easily and runs well. It's mated to a BW12 three-speed
automatic transmission. Recent service and recommissioning
consisted of carb rebuilds, fuel pumps, fresh fluids, brake system
rebuild, tune up and headliner.
It's increasingly difficult to find a well-sorted, good-driving
Series I XJ6 - as most need expensive restoration at this point.
This example supplies ample style and performance at the offered
price. Factory jack in bag, matching spare and original owner's
manual are included.
