319-366-7600 1966 Ford Fairlane Convertible with XL trim. In the
mid 60s the term full-size meant FULL-size and mid-sized meant not
as big, and that's where the Ford Fairlane fit into the lineup. Not
so big as to require a harbor pilot's license to guide it down the
street but big enough to put a few friends in it and enjoy a
drive-in movie. Not including those in the trunk. To spice things
up the powers that be at Ford created the XL sport trim package to
compliment the sleek lines of the sheet metal which included a full
console with floor shift and bucket seats. This one is powered by a
smooth running Ford 289 V-8 Engine and a Cruise-O-Matic
transmission, power steering and power top. The tan interior
consists of correct console with shifter and original bucket seats.
The 289 runs smooth and has complete dual exhaust system. The black
vinyl top is in nice shape and it goes up and down as it should.
This one goes up and down the road like you would expect it to. The
floors do have a couple of minor patches in them but have no rust
holes. This one is finished in Springtime Yellow that compliments
the buckskin tan bucket seat interior that looks great. Features
include the 289 V8 with 2V Carb, correct smooth shifting
Cruise-O-Matic, working Factory AM Radio in the dash. Performance
Tuned Exhaust Smooth and Effortless Power Steering. The power black
Vinyl Top with a plastic rear window works great and the bucket
seat Interior with center console with brushed aluminum trim is in
nice shape. There is the full length lower body accent moldings.

front. The factory instrumentation works great, chrome and
stainless are in good shape. There is the driver's side Chrome Rear
