Vehicle Description
Super-rare and super-powerful, this 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra
Terminator derives its awesomeness via a "can't miss" formula -
take an already potent and magnetic, top of the line SVT Mustang
and equip it with an assortment of aggressively slick exterior
modifications for a look all its own, then up the ante on its power
game via the addition of top-tier components under the hood for
outstanding performance. And with only 37,364 miles on the clock
and a show-winning presentation that really draws a crowd, this
Terminator will be back for years to come.
The vivid Red Fire shade draped over its exterior is an elegant and
somewhat understated choice for a car with so much visual appeal
already built in, and while there are a few subtle reminders of its
travels over the years, make no mistake - this street machine is a
definite head turner. Designed by the same mind that brought us the
'05-'06 Ford GT supercar, the SVT Terminator features a number of
styling upgrades to set it apart from its more commonly-encountered
stablemates, including a new front fascia with an integrated
spoiler and brake air ducts, a composite hood with dual functional
scoops that sends cool air to the engine, newly designed side
scoops and side skirts that are all part of the Terminator body
kit, and a new rear fascia with a distinctive spoiler featuring an
LED brake light gracing its deck lid and lower valance with dual
exhaust exits. All these intricately designed components are not
only essential to this car's "GO FAST" attitude, but they also work
together to form in an incredibly unique Mustang that seems to
transcend time. Quite frankly, if it was built today we'd still be
in awe, and thanks to years of conscientious ownership and easy
living, the car's in fantastic shape and ready to keep adding
trophies to its already growing collection. A power black
convertible top sits neatly tucked under its tonneau cover, waiting
to be called into action should you encounter uncooperative weather
- but with the top down the pronounced MMD Convertible Styling bar
looks great and helps stiffen the body in the turns. The headlights
and taillights were lightly smoked for effect, and although the
car's badging is somewhat reserved when you consider the organized
violence that lives under the hood, it definitely lets everyone
know that this isn't just some grocery getter out catching a quick
tan. This Cobra can throw down with anyone.
A quick peak inside let's everyone know that the interior
benefitted from Ford's SVT treatment as well. Both the front bucket
and rear bench seats feature a stylish combination of gray leather
and suede, with prominent Cobra badging on their backrests. The
white faces of the SVT gauges look sharp in the instrument cluster
and a triple set of auxiliary gauges have been seamlessly
integrated into the A-pillar. Comfort and convenience features
include power seats, remote door openers, door locks and windows,
air conditioning that's in fine form, cruise control, a stock
AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash, and a stock Cobra steering wheel
attached to a tilt column. Driver and passenger airbags are an
added measure of safety and the featured anti-theft device helps
ensure that this beauty won't leave your possession unintended. An
MGW short throw shifter was installed to manage the 6-speed manual
transmission below, a set of racy pedals are under the dash, and a
black set of Cobra floor mats protect the carpeted floors. The rear
seat has rarely, if ever, been used since the car was delivered
new, and when the decklid is raised you'll find that everything is
100% stock, right down to the "Terminator" script on the decklid
panel.
The special edition 4.6 liter 32 valve double-overhead cam V8 this
Mustang left the factory with by virtue of its SVT Cobra status was
a very strong performer to begin with, but an assembly of further
enhanced, top-shelf components takes things to a much higher level.
These "Terminator" upgrades include a Eaton 112 supercharger -
custom tuned and ready for strip or street with approximately 450
horses to the rear wheel - as well as a stock cold-air intake,
K&N filter, and an Accufab oval throttle body with a polished
elbow. It's been detailed for show under the hood where
everything's been polished to a blinding shine, right down to the
brake booster, painted valve covers, intake manifold, and battery
and radiator shrouds. The 6-speed manual transmission sits just
behind the powerplant, offering an exhilarating driving experience
and teaming with a McLeod clutch and flywheel whose forte is
handling just the high power output this drivetrain offers. A
Bassani catback X-pipe exhaust system with Borla Stinger mufflers
provide optimum breathing, as well as a killer exhaust note that
will bring a smile to your face. Upgraded 4-wheel power ABS disc
brakes with Hawk drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads
provide ample stopping power, while the stance and steering is
greatly improved thanks to Eibach lowering springs and anti-roll
sway bars. Finally, this exceptional looking special edition
Mustang cruises on its set of $5k 19-inch CCW 50A wheels that were
forged and made-to-order, and then wrapped in staggered Falken
performance tires.
