Vehicle Description
Hard to go wrong with almost 19 feet of classic Cadillac, wrapped
in a dapper black tuxedo no less! If you want to get noticed, be
the center of attention at car shows, and pretty much look like you
have the world at your beck and call, nothing delivers the message
better than a vintage Cadillac like this all-original, survivor
1970 Sedan DeVille.
Looking at the price, you probably already know that this isn't
just some worn-out driver found on Craigslist with a ton of miles
and no pedigree, and you'd be correct in your assumption. The
sinister Code 19 Sable Black paint is the original finish - and it
certainly looks impressive for a 50-year old survivor - so if
you're looking to make a grand entrance in Vegas, this is your
ride. The finish is deep and still shiny enough to turn heads out
on Main Street, and all-black isn't a bad choice on a vintage
Cadillac if you want to stand out from the norm, because they were,
at heart, flamboyant cars mostly in these years. Calming that
reputation down a bit by covering those huge panels in black finish
was a great decision in our opinion, as this 4-door sedan looks
serious and sophisticated. Finish quality is very good, but
obviously there are a few signs of age and use and a little orange
peel here and there, but nobody will notice any of that as you
cruise by as a one-car parade. In fact, we think a nice
buff-and-wax would really restore some old glory on this luxurious
land yacht by taking out some of that very fine scratching and
adding some depth and clarity to the slick black livery. Cadillacs
are known for fins and chrome, and this one has both, from the
pontoon-shaped front bumpers that are still in great shape to the
pointed taillights out back that leave no question as to what kind
of car this is. Whether you're a mob boss or a family-man (yes, in
this context those are mutually exclusive), this beautiful,
all-original Caddy is going to deliver you in style, and we bet
you'll absolutely love the drive that got you there.
As you might imagine, there's enough space inside the cabin for
this Caddy to qualify as an addition on your home. The blue
cloth-and-vinyl upholstery is all original, as you might expect on
a survivor, and it shows very little wear despite its many years of
service, providing an elegant yet durable backdrop to this talk,
dark, and handsome Caddy. Legroom is expansive in back, with
matching upholstery throughout, and the entire cabin is pure 1970s
chic and remains in great condition. Matching blue carpets are
protected with correct vinyl mats, the original door panels retain
those cool upholstered inserts, and the dark blue dash with wood
applique accents throughout is in fantastic condition, giving this
car a very grown-up and high-end feel. Of course, almost everything
was standard in your 1970 Cadillac, from power windows and locks to
A/C to a six-way front bench seat. The 1970 Cadillacs also had a
very cool wrap-around instrument panel that pretty much gave the
driver exclusive use of all the controls, and the original steering
wheel has matching wood grain on the rim. The stock AM/FM radio is
still in the dash and amazingly still works, further proof of this
vehicle's low-mileage, low-ownership status. Out back, the
cavernous trunk is super clean and houses an original full-size
spare and factory jack set.
Cadillac's 472 cubic inch V8 make locomotive-like torque, easily
propelling the big DeVille with authority. They're also
indestructible low-RPM engines that never feel like they're working
very hard, and thanks to good maintenance throughout its life, this
one runs quite well indeed. With a 4-barrel carburetor on top, this
numbers-matching big block gets off the line easily, but where it's
really at home is interstate cruising, where there's no better way
to travel. The engine bay is well-kept and nicely detailed, and
service access is surprisingly good compared to the Eldorado
convertible that would follow. A TH400 3-speed automatic spins a
heavy-duty rear end that looks like it belongs under a giant truck
rather than a luxury car, and the suspension is in good order so
that incomparable '70s Cadillac ride is part of the package. Stock
wheels with proper Cadillac hubcaps give it the right look and
carry 235/75/15 whitewall radials that finish off the look
perfectly.
Big and flashy, this Cadillac delivers an A-list celebrity
experience at a competitive price. With tons of originality, an
attractive color combination, and that luxurious ride, this is a
huge bang for the buck luxury driver. Call today!
