This gorgeous 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Custom is a great looking and great driving classic pony car. It was the product of a rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2020.  It has many Shelby style upgrades and is in show quality condition throughout. The striking color combination of Silver and Red dresses it wonderfully. It’s equipped with many subtle upgrades such a modern stereo, electronic ignition and power steering. The car is powered by a built 289 V8 engine w/ factory Hi-Po intake and exhaust manifolds. The engine is coupled to a Borg Warner T 5-speed manual transmission. The power is transferred to a built Ford 8” Truetrac POSI rear end. This car is a special piece and will make the new owner proud. Giddy up Pony, Giddy up!

As the VIN number indicates this car was built in Dearborn, MI as a 1966 Ford Mustang 2-door Fastback with a 6 cylinder engine. The original VIN stamp is on the driver’s side inner fender. The original data tag that was on the door is not there. A new reproduction data tag was ordered by MS CLASSIC CARS from Mart Auto Works and will be riveted on the door. From the information gathered this car was owned by a gentleman named Rolf Cramer who lives in Waynesboro, Georgia. He’s a sheriff for the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. He’s a Mustang collector who purchased this car to restore it. He found the car in the middle of a field and wanted to bring it back to its glory days. The car started life as a plain Jane 66 Ford Mustang Fastback that was Seafoam Green in color. The build was a true labor of love. He sent to car to Tootles Design and Fabrication in Waynesboro, GA for the bodywork. When the bodywork was completed he sent the car to Super Trucks painter Ken Rayburn who has done custom paint work for everyone from Derek Jeter to the sheikh of Dubai. The engine was built by Pat at Augusta Engines. Restoration photos are included. Once the car was completed this gentleman only drove the car roughly 100 miles before selling it to a friend who lived in Appling, GA. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from this gentleman in late August of 2020.
The exterior of this car is absolutely gorgeous with its striking design and color combination. From the information gathered most of the sheet metal was replaced during the restoration. A Shelby hood scoop was added to the metal hood. Shelby side scoops were added to the quarter panels. The hood has a latch and also hood pins. The body is straight and the gaps are good. The hood, doors and trunk lid operate very nicely. The car was finished in Lexus Atomic Silver which is a beautiful color. This color really pops in the sunlight and the photos do it no justice. The paint job is really nice and has been detailed to a brilliant shine. The silver was complemented with red Shelby GT350 stripes on the lower rockers. All of the glass was replaced new throughout the entire car and stamped Carlite like the factory did. All of the window trim was restored or replaced. Everything else on the exterior was replaced new such as the wipers, antenna, driver’s side mirror, front grille, headlights, parking light bezels, parking lights, front bumper, door handles, tail light bezels, tail light lenses, rear bumper and Shelby GT350 gas cap and emblem. The car sits on new 15” 5-spoke mag wheels with GT350 center caps. The wheels are wrapped with new Toyo Extensa A/S Radial 205-60-15 tires. The car is equipped with a new matching spare wheel and tire.

The interior of this car is also absolutely gorgeous in every sense of the word. The exterior color is complemented with a brand new red interior. The dash, door panels and rear panels were painted red. Some of the new subtle upgrades include blue gauge lights, Shelby dash mounted 9,000 RPM tachometer, wood steering wheel with Shelby GT350 horn button, Hurst shifter with white shift knob and leather boot. MS CLASSIC CARS added a Retro Sound Laguna AM/FM stereo with auxiliary port and dual voice coil speaker. To keep it real, a set of original style rubber red floor mats were added. Everything in the interior is in working order such as all the gauges, sound system, lights and heating system. The trunk compartment was completely restored and in excellent condition. It has a new factory style trunk mat and spare tire cover. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new matching spare wheel and tire with new jack and tools.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. Great attention was spent on keeping the original look with subtle custom touches. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was finished in satin back. The backside of the metal hood was also finished in satin black. Everything in the engine compartment has been restored or replaced such as the hood hinges, wiper motor, master cylinder, hoses, clamps, battery tray, alternator, radiator, fan, etc. The car is powered by a built 289 V8 engine that runs excellent. The engine was built by Pat at Augusta Engines. It is a correct 289 built with performance internals including hydraulic roller rockers and a Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam. The block was painted Ford blue and dressed with a factory Hi-Po intake, chrome Shelby valve covers and air cleaner. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new Holley “Quick Fuel” 4-barrell carburetor with electric choke and Pertronix ignition system. It has black radio resistance wires, true Autolite battery and battery power cut off knob. MS CLASSIC CARS also added power steering which makes a huge difference.
