Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible, displaying a refinished Gloss
Black (originally Ancona Blue Metallic) exterior over a Camel Tan
vinyl interior with a matching Tan convertible top. This
beautifully restored maintains its original AJ-coded fuel injected
1600cc engine and 4-speed manual transmission, and is currently
displaying 49,293 miles on the odometer.

stars!" as quoted from the 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible
brochure. The long-celebrated Beetle is still among the most
desired classic cars throughout the world! Mainly due to the
relatively inexpensive cost to purchase, and the carefree
maintenance they require to actually enjoy all year long!
This example comes from the previous owner of 15years, who
purchased it already restored, with new exterior paint and
interior. The windshield is new with a fresh seal, and all body and
window weather stripping remain like new and soft. The chrome
bumpers, door handles, mirrors, parking light housing, body side
trim molding, and side window glass are original! The interior
received new carpeting, all door and sail panels, and seating
upholstery. A fantastic Super Beetle example that has been upgraded
with custom front seats featuring special side and back bolsters,
along with smaller, adjustable headrests, new chrome wheels and
center caps. The only other interior upgrades appear to be a wood
shift knob and the radio replaced with a newer Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD
unit in the stock location. The dash is in excellent condition as
is the original leather wrapped steering wheel but the horn cover
is starting to separate at the seam. The body, fenders, entire
floor pan, front storage area, spare tire well, and engine surround
are all solid and in great condition!
From the moment you start this vehicle up, you can instantly sense
how tightly tuned the motor is, and the urge to drive it is
immediate! Recent servicing in November 2020 included oil change
with oil filter, new fuel filter, V-belt, front strut/spring
assembles, front wheel bearings, new front brake shoes/turned
drums, left front wheel brake cylinder, new brake master cylinder,
brake reservoir hose, all new brake fluid, and brakes properly
adjusted at all four corners. It also received a new battery and
new radial tires measuring 195/65R15. It will come with a boot
cover for top down driving.
