Cool Classic Rides, Dealer #DA8690 is excited to offer another
classic with this 1966 Ford 7-Litre Galaxie 500. This is a prime
example of old school cool and absolutely no detail has been missed
throughout this restoration. We think it is the all around nicest
job we have done on a cool, classic ride, so far. With a fresh 428
big block motor and new exhaust, this ride has plenty of power and
it runs and drives excellent. The 1966 Galaxie 500 was the very
first car to use the 428. Speaking of power and speed, the "500"
was added to the Galaxie name in 1962 in an effort to help connect
the car more to Nascar and its' 500-mile races. Ford played a large
role in supporting race teams, because winning races would help
increase car sales. In production for only three years, and with
just 8,705 built in 1966, this is a rare one indeed. Referred to as
"The smoothest brute on wheels" and "either the quickest quiet car
or the quietest quick car" the 7-Litre Galaxie was geared towards
those wanting luxury combined with some sport car attributes as
well. This Galaxie has a super straight, super clean body with no
rust found. The fresh coat of paint has brought it back to its
factory original color and it looks fantastic. Pair that with
original chrome in excellent shape (some minor scratches) and
original 7-litre striping and you've got yourself one slick ride.
Brand new white wall tires on great wheels also look awesome. All
original 7 litre hubcaps are here and intact as well. The special
badging was only used on the 1966 model. These are so hard to find,
that the one grill badge we could find on Ebay is currently going
for $1800. The interior is practically brand new, but has been
restored to its factory original look. The new carpet, upholstery
and headliner all look fantastic. The original door panels and dash
are in excellent condition. This is definitely one ride you do not
want to miss out on. You will find it very hard to find another
Galaxie 500 like this one, in similar shape, for a better deal.
