Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1971 Jaguar E-type Series
III Coupe. Finished in Willow Green over Biscuit, this car is
desirably equipped with a four-speed manual and air conditioning.
Excellent and complete chrome with nice glass and consistently good
finish quality over a straight and rust-free body. While this
example isn't quite up to concours standards, it's nicer than what
most people would think of as a driver. Some of the rubbers are
showing their age (most notably the bonnet seal), but the car
overall presents well. Interior is tidy and everything works as it
should, including the correct Philips AM/FM/SW radio.
The current enthusiast owner of approximately five years has
undertaken a mechanical and interior refresh programme to include
new leather hides on the seats and a new headliner, a rebuilt power
steering rack, ReOpus electronic ignition, an A/C system service
(the air blows cold), plus comprehensive routine maintenance. Under
previous ownership this Jag got a new clutch (including
hydraulics), a complete suspension and braking overhaul, engine
reseal and carburetor rebuild (all four, of course).
Its driving dynamics are where this E-Type really shines. The
original, numbers-matching 5.3 liter V12 paired with a four-speed
manual gearbox is quite an impressive package - it's properly fast,
the engine likes to rev, and its sound in the upper range is
reminiscent of a Ferrari V12.
This is a three-owner car and we believe the mileage, at just over
40k, to be original. This example is well sorted and ready for
touring with no excuses. For more information about this 1971
Jaguar XKE for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call
