Vehicle Description
1946 Chevrolet Pickup
From 1941 to 1947 Chevrolet released their AK series of pickup
trucks. These light duty trucks were different from previous years
in that they no longer shared their appearance with passenger cars.
They had an all new look of their own. This clean 46 Chevy 3100
pickup is done in a street rod style and was very well built. It is
all steel and sitting on a C10 chassis. The body is in excellent
shape and free from any rust, bondo or patch panels. The paint is a
unique Plum Crazy Purple and Sage Green which has a very clean
finish. The chrome grill has a beautiful shine and the Chevrolet
lettering painted Purple to match the body. Up front the original
bumper was removed and in back a custom roll pan was created. The
tail gate has been smoothed with custom freehand pinstriping laid
down nicely. The openings of the bed sides have been modified to be
enclosed for a very clean look. On the running board the Chevrolet
bowtie steps are in place but have also been customized with the
two tone paint scheme. All of the lights are working properly with
no issues. Instead of being behind the seat the gas tank has been
relocated to the bed which is where you will find the chrome cap.
The rest of the bed features very nice Oak wood paneling with
stainless runners. It is very well done and looks great. The truck
has dual side mirrors which are adjustable and have been painted to
match. The truck has a nice stance and rides on a set of Cragar
wheels with Hankook Optimo tires.
Powering the Pickup is a nice 350 V8 crate motor. The engine
compartment is show ready with a nice painted firewall and a lot of
the motor components painted a matching Green. The engine is fitted
with an Edelbrock performer rpm manifold, 600cfm 4 barrel carb, HEI
distributor, Dragon 10 mm wires, .270 duration camshaft, black
Chevrolet valve covers and a black chevrolet air cleaner. It is
mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission which sends power back to
the 12 bolt rear end. The truck has a great sound with custom 2 1/4
inch exhaust tubes, headers and FloPro mufflers. The suspension was
all redone with CPP tubular upper/lower control arms, 4 link
panhard bar and adjustable coilovers. It has disc brakes up front
which are power as well as power steering and Vintage AC/Heat which
makes it a very comfortable pickup to cruise around in. Cooling is
no issue thanks to the aluminum 2 row radiator with electric puller
fan.
The interior is finished out in a matching two tone with Dodge
Dakota bucket seats which are fitted with modern lap/shoulder seat
belts. The upholstery work is all in great shape. It has a lokar
shifter on the floor which sits just in front of a custom console
which houses the AM/FM/CD/Aux stereo and backup camera screen. The
dash features white face classic gauges in a nice billet bezel. The
Ididit tilt column is painted a matching purple and is topped off
with a woodgrain aftermarket wheel with a Chevy bowtie horn button.
Other nice features include the Newport Engineering electric 2
speed wiper system.
This clean truck needs nothing and runs great. Everything works
properly without issues. It was very well built and is ready to
go!
