Vehicle Description
1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Development of the Corvette began in late 1951 as "Project Opel"
and was the brainchild of famed General Motors designer Harley
Earl. In January of 1953, the world would get its first glimpse of
the Corvette in concept form at the General Motors Motorama auto
show in New York City. Six-months later, production versions of the
Corvette began rolling off the assembly line in Flint, Michigan.
However, by the end of the year, production was transplanted to St.
Louis.
For consignment a customized Sebring Silver Corvette from 1999 in
convertible form. With a Caravaggio deck spoiler, black/chrome Z06
style wheels red calipers hub and rotor covers, some chromed bling
added under the hood like a K&N snorkel cold air intake, Borla
exhaust, and plenty of interior creature comforts, this just may be
your dream car awaiting your fantasy to be fulfilled.
Exterior
Fully aero rounded design complete with hidden headlights some
Daytona stripes, (did you know that these stripes were used at the
big tracks to help pit crews denote which car on the team was
entering the pits, with each car sporting a different number of
stripes on the front quarters??), Corvette cove, raked back
windshield in black surround, Caravaggio rear deck spoiler and near
perfect black canvas convertible top, all bathed in Sebring Silver.
All fiberglass is in excellent condition. Rear oval taillights have
been slotted and a quartet of exhaust pipes peek out the center of
the rear roll pan below. Lest we forget those black and chrome
rimmed 17 and 18 inch respectively Z06 wheels on all 4 corners.
Interior
Sporty black leather buckets grab you with a sit inside. Black door
panels with nearly every power control one could want border these
buckets. Leather is in good condition with a few wrinkles, and
areas of wear, but remaining nice. A heads up display, along with
cruise control, a power memory seat, power telescoping steering
wheel all wrapped up in a curved dash that presents very cleanly.
Black carpet floods the floors and is in very nice condition. Ride
control and active handling knobs are conveniently located just
behind the shift lever.
Drivetrain
A well manicured 345hp 5.7 Liter LS1 V8 is seen with a front flip
of the hood. This has EFI, and a 4L60E 4-speed automatic
transmission attached. The 2.73 rear axle configuration, and active
handling package that can handle all the power this active mill can
produce. Noted a cold air intake and a mass airflow system to help
the engine pump out the horses.
Undercarriage
Extreme clean sums it up underneath looking very close to showroom
with a touch of patina from just plain old enjoying this fine
sports car. C5 Corvette suspension all around as are 4 wheel power
disc brakes. A stainless steel Borla exhaust system is noted.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter, and runner. This LS1 V8 can push this car very
quickly up to speed, and due to the comfortable interior, even with
the top down, it is hard to tell exactly how fast you are really
traveling. Overall a good driving experience, and easy smooth
automatic transmission shifting. All the power options are
functional, and the stereo sounds fab!
One of only a few 1999 Corvettes currently in inventory, and this
one is well cared for, played with and nicely put away in a temp
controlled garage, well maintained, and is just a fun car to drive.
Nothing like being low to the ground and taking a corner like it is
not even there...Wild!
