The Triumph GT6 was introduced for 1968 with a 1,998cc inline-six
that breathes through twin Stromberg carburetors and produced 95
horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 117 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm.
This beautiful Valencia Blue Mark I GT6 was sold new in California
and spent most of its life there before moving to Colorado, then
Oregon. The stamped numbers on the car match the British Motor
Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, which accompanies the car. as
do maintenance and repair receipts going back to 2002, which is
when it also received a professional repaint in its factory color
and a new interior. In 2020 the carburetors were rebuilt and new
tires were installed. This Mark I GT6 runs strong and handles with
precision. The frame and body are solid with nothing more than the
usual light surface rust on the undercarriage and trunk. The
passenger floorboard was repaired in 2002. Aftermarket air cleaners
have been installed, and the factory air cleaner is included in the
sale.
