Vehicle Description
1987 Pontiac Fiero GT. Let's get the production numbers out of the
way, for discussion. Total of ALL Fieros made in 1987 is
46,581...and of all those made, less than 10% of them offered in
Blue (4,458). Next there were only 15,968 total GTs made in 1987.
So in keeping with the ratio, it's safe to assume that about 10% of
the total GTs were blue as well, so roughly 1,600. And we know that
the auto-to-manual ratio of GTs is about 50/50, so with that, one
can conclude that there were about 800 made of each. Makes one
wonder how many are really left out there, doesn't it? Car runs and
drives great, AC has already been converted to R134 and it works,
has fresh tires on it, recently tuned up, some engine upgrades,
adjustable upper ball joints, sport lowering springs suspension,
upgraded Monroe shocks, aftermarket 2 piece JDM wheels, wheel locks
and other goodies. No leaks, smokes, or drips at all. Car cranks
right up and the V6 idles smoothly and sounds great. America's
first mass produced mid engine car, even BEFORE the new C8 Vette.
Interior is very nice for the year as well as the fresh window
felts and dew wipes. Clear coat is going bad as usual with these,
and the previous owner painted the lower grey trim to the mono
scheme, but it is a true blue 87, all vin plates are intact, door
sills show original paint scheme. There isn't a nicer blue 87 GT on
Facebook with as many upgrades and extras, for less than this one.
