GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1959 Chevrolet Apache for
your consideration. This beautiful truck was the recipient of a
frame-off restoration before the selling owner's purchase of the
vehicle in 2001. It has since been meticulously maintained and kept
in excellent condition all around. It is powered by the original
235ci Thriftmaster inline-6 motor which sends power to the rear
wheels through the original Saginaw 3-speed manual transmission
with synchromesh. Even the 3.90 rear end is the factory original.
This truck recently received a complete tune-up with the
documentation to prove it. It starts right up and runs
exceptionally well.
The exterior is finished in the beautiful color of Neptune Green
and features show quality chrome on the bumpers, grille, and trim
pieces throughout the exterior. It rides on 15-inch American Racing
Mag wheels. Rounding out the exterior features are is a tonneau bed
cover and Flowmaster dual exhaust which not only adds a subtle
aggressive touch but also makes the I6 motor sound like a
beast.
The interior has remained for the most part completely stock except
for aftermarket bucket seats and an AM/FM/Cassette radio. As with
the exterior, it is exceptionally clean throughout. During the time
of the restoration, a Mustang II front clip was installed along
with Camaro disc brakes in the front. These upgrades work together
along with the routine maintenance to make for a great driving
vehicle.
In 1958 Chevrolet gave their Task Force Trucks a complete front-end
redesign. This redesign followed the industry trend of adopting
quad headlights and a massive front grille. This design change
carried over into the 1959 model.
This example has recently received a complete engine bay detail as
can be seen in the pictures. Other maintenance records that
accompany the truck indicate within it has received a shift linkage
adjustment, cooling system flush, carburetor rebuild, new fuel
tank, new fuel pump and sending unit, and clutch. Needless to say,
this truck is ready to go! Along with the truck comes a full body
storage cover, chrome bumper guards, a large folder of paperwork,
original truck operators' manual, and original screw operated jack.
Now is your chance to take home a beautiful Chevrolet Apache.
