Toyota FJ 43
A purist dream! This Toyota Land Cruiser has all original and upgraded mechanical parts. The vehicle was imported from Columbia and restored to original conditions with carefully chosen modifications. The FJ has received some modern upgrades including a Toyota H55 five-speed gearbox, power steering, Vintage A/C, front disc brakes, Vision Rally wheels with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, Old Man Emu suspension, and heated seats. The chassis and engine are original. Vehicle numbers match and the chassis is in great condition with no repairs or welds. The chassis was sandblasted and repainted to the original black. The FJ43 was treated to a complete frame-off restoration with the entire body taken down to the bare metal. Complete body paint with Toyota Dune Beige 464 using a two-coat process with a clear coat and body shoot for under-body protection.
This 1984 FJ43 is powered by its 2F 4.2L inline 6-cylinder engine, which completely rebuilt and mated to a 5-speed, manual transmission. The vehicle has been meticulously restored from the ground-up and is in great condition. The engine, suspension, drivetrain, and restoration have less than 2,000 miles (2800 kilometers) on them.
Toyota started production of the Land Cruiser FJ43 in 1960 and began importing them to the US in 1963. The reliability and impressive off-road capabilities solidified the Toyota FJ Land Cruiser name all over the world making it an instant success. The last US-bound FJ rolled off the line in 1984, making a brief comeback as a modern SUV in the US called the FJ Cruiser from 2006 to 2014. The FJ43 wheelbase is 6 inches longer than the FJ40 wheelbase and 15 inches longer in length than the FJ40 adding extra stability when driving on the highway.
