Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1980 International
Harvester Scout II. This truck underwent a frame-off restoration in
2003 at 76,000 miles - it has been garaged and driven sparingly
(only 3,500 miles) since and still presents beautifully. Body is
straight with good panel gaps and excellent door fitment. Line
setting ticket confirms original color and options. The two-tone
orange "spear stripe" graphics plus color-matched turbine wheels
give this one a great retro look. Updated LED headlights are both
functional and attractive.
The interior of this truck presents nicely with good carpets, dash,
headliner and steering wheel. Seats and door panels were just
reupholstered in an attractive Burberry-style tartan plaid. During
the restoration the window regulators were rebuilt and all rubbers
were replaced - little details like this such as easy-to-operate
doors and windows make living with a 40-year-old truck much
easier.
Under the hood is a 304 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite 727
automatic transmission. Optioned with power steering and power
brakes (front disc), nearly all of the suspension and brake system
components were overhauled during and since the restoration. A new
Skyjacker two-inch lift plus 31x10.50 all terrain tires provide
improved ground clearance and a slightly beefier-than-stock look
without sacrificing road manners. Recent complete service with no
known maintenance needs. We usually do not recommend extended
highly trips in any vintage 4x4 but we recently drove this one on
the interstate and it was smooth and comfortable at 70 mph.
This is one of the best running and driving Scout's in recent
memory, and it sure looks good going down the road. For more
