Vehicle Description
As British vehicles go, the Austin-Healey 3000 is one of those
unmistakable cars. This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 MKIII is one of
those cars. This beautiful example had an extensive restoration
that was just completed recently and less than 200 miles ago. This
3000 was completely dismantled and the frame was sand blasted and
epoxy coated. The list of new parts is long and comes with a binder
full of receipts. The high quality burgundy metallic and silver
paint is in excellent condition. The convertible top has been
replaced. The exterior chrome has either been replaced or
rechromed. The exterior of these 3000's are timeless with the front
grille and hood scoop that looks like it is coming to attack the
street. The chrome wire wheels are a very nice addition to its
appearance as well. The black interior has also been restored. The
black leather on the seats is tastefully accented with the silver
piping. Even though most of the interior is new, it still retains
its great wood dash which is very good condition. Powered by the
factory 2912 CC inline 6 cylinder that was installed in these BJ8
MKIII's and fueled by the dual SU carburetors. Power is then
transferred to the 4 speed manual transmission. The stopping power
comes from the factory front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The
great sound comes from the factory style dual exit exhaust. The
underside alone on this Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII goes to show just
how solid this car was before the restoration and well maintained
it was. There are few cars that warranted having mass produced
replicas modeled after them and the 3000 was one of them. Here is a
chance to own an authentic, last year production, Austin-Healey
3000.
