Vehicle Description
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Zora Arkus-Duntov (December 25, 1909 - April 21, 1996) was a
Belgian-born American engineer whose work on the Chevrolet Corvette
earned him the nickname "Father of the Corvette." He is sometimes
erroneously referred to as the inventor of the Corvette, whereas
that title belongs to Harley Earl. He was also a successful racing
driver, taking class victories in 1954 and 1955 24 Heures du
Mans.
For consignment a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette with Millennium Yellow
ceramic coated paint, a black manual convertible top and Z06 chrome
wheels and wider tires, and snazzy yellow brake calipers. Inside
full leather jacket seats and a heads-up display projecting on the
windshield. This C5 excellent condition convertible 'Vette is just
the ticket if you are wild about saffron. (and saffron is wild
about you).
Exterior
Millennium Yellow drapes the exterior of this sculpted fiberglass
car. Exterior add ons include heated outside mirrors, manual
folding top with rear glass and defroster, halogen headlamps and
driving lights for extra night time visibility, and chrome oval
exhaust tips, to go with the oval lights on the tail. A black
convertible canvas top is like new, and chrome Z06 aluminum wheels
are all around and wrapped in wide 245/45/ZR17's on front and
275/40ZR18's on back. When the top is down a beautiful molded body
matching yellow cowl formed to the seats covers it and looks just
fabulous! The saying all that glitters is not gold, its
yellow...millennium yellow!
Interior
Black leather, power adjustable, high back buckets embroidered with
"Corvette" name await you. You'll notice on the driver's seat there
is some splitting of the leather at the seams. Sliding in will put
you into a cockpit with an AM/FM/ Single CD Sound system with Bose
Speakers, dual zone electronic A/C, a drivers info center on the
dash above the console, cruise control, and power locks and power
windows. Also, a heads up display projects onto the windscreen if
you like. Black carpeting is covering the floors and in back that
fiberglass cowl tonneau cover has a center post that works its way
down to the center console, which then races through the buckets.
This car looks fast even on the inside.
Drivetrain
Speaking of fast, we turn our attention to the heart of the matter
in the 5.7 Liter LS1 fuel Injected V8 nestled under the forward
tipping hood, in a clean engine bay, is attached to a 4-speed 4L60E
electronic automatic transmission, and for the rear axle a 2.73
ratio. All capable of producing a nice 350horses to the rear
wheels. I'm blasting through this yellow light, hold on!
Undercarriage
Very clean, nothing but black painted steel and stainless steel.
Very sound with no rust or surface rust. Active handling, traction
control, and 4 wheel power disc brakes with ABS are noted..
Drive-Ability
Runs like a clock work.... yellow? Ah yes, a fast car for sure,
handles like it's on rails, stops on a dime, and offers up comfort
and convenience for the driver and passenger alike. All working,
all wonderful, all yellow.
Turn the key and you're off like a yellow streak with a black
convertible top. Gone, gone gone, quite right.
