Kept Motors.) Here's a unique vehicle with edgy styling that is
sure to provide you with a visceral driving experience. The Polaris
Slingshot is a vehicle that many believed to be a substitute for
motorcycles - for those that were too scared or too old to ride a
motorcycle. In reality, Polaris seems to have really brought more
attention to a newer and fun vehicle genre for people of all ages.
Other three wheelers have been on the market for a number of years,
but were offered by smaller manufacturers in small numbers. The
Slingshot is a fun vehicle that Polaris dealers struggle to keep in
stock, so here's your chance to get your hands on one. This version
is the top of the line, highest horsepower Slingshot that is
offered - the Slingshot 'R'. So what does the R stand for? Racing?
Really quick? Rarely a dull moment? Recipe for fun? We think all of
the above apply, but per our research it looks like the R simply
designates the top of the line performance model, similar to a
Civic Type R. Speaking of a Civic Type R, the Slingshot is just a
hair quicker to 60 than the Civic, but it feels miles quicker since
the Slingshot is an open autocycle. Wind in your hair, no doors,
screaming engine at your feet - it's a treat for your senses. Our
client managed to resist putting many miles on this Slingshot, as
it shows just under 350 miles on the odometer and looks like new.
Edgy styling is the name of the game when looking over the exterior
of this odd little autocycle. Bright blue metallic and black are
strategically placed over the body panels further accentuating the
hard lines and aggressive nature of the Slingshot. A full set of
tailights are integrated at the rear, and a full set of headlights
and turn signals are neatly integrated at the front. Black alloy
wheels wrapped in sticky tires, outside rear view mirrors on both
sides, and a windshield are other highlights of the exterior. Once
seated in the Slingshot, you're greeted by many of the same
accessories that you would expect to find in the average car.
Seatbelts, supportive seats, a hand brake, traction control button,
cruise control, radio/navigation, controls for the radio on the
chunky steering wheel, and even cupholders. At the front of the
Slingshot is a 2.0L inline four that offers approximately 200
horsepower and has a screaming 8500rpm redline. A 5 speed
'automated manual' transmission handles gear selection. This unique
autocycle is sure to put a smile on your face whenever it's driven,
so we've come up with another R that corresponds to this Slingshot
- 'Reaching for floss'.....to get the bugs out of your teeth that
is. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main
