Buick scored a Home Run with the Grand National, which to those who
weren't car enthusiasts, was a fairly normal looking two door
Regal. The small differences like a black grille, different wheels,
and small special badging didn't jump out at the average Joe. Right
off the showroom floor the Grand National was a very capable
performance car. Made with the memory of the muscle cars of the
60's in mind, sticking a turbo under the hood was a little
different than the big V8's of the muscle car era. They replaced
the displacement with a Turbocharger. This is a 3 owner car, in
2015 our client purchased the car from the second owner who had
owned it since 1989. Through each year of our client's ownership, a
number of things on the car were changed from engine tweaks to
paint and body work changes. A short synopsis of what was done each
year starts with 2016 when a new radiator, new TE44 turbo, 3
downpipe, 60psi injectors, and a corresponding tune were completed
by Bruce at Aggressive Performance of Detroit, who specialize in
Grand Nationals. In 2018 driveline mods were completed to the tune
of a new 3.73 rear end, new drive shaft and U-joints, 2300 stall
converter, and a 1st gear trans brake. In 2019 the engine was
pulled and completely torn down. New heads, cams, rockers,
bearings, rods, pistons, oil pan, and a fresh tune were added. In
2020 the whole car was completed and a new windshield was added
during that process. This car is ready to rip, or enjoy as a
driver. It's streetable, and comfortable since the original
interior is still all there. The interior still features the two
tone bucket seats with Grand National logo stitched on them, three
spoke thick steering wheel, and the simple squared off dashboard.
You'll notice a few, well integrated changes to the interior if you
look closely. An A-Pillar gauge pod was added that houses a few
Auto Meter gauges, a new radio was added, and a new shifter
surround to help accommodate the Hurst shifter. This is a clean
(and very fast) Grand National that is all dialed in and ready for
a new home. We all know the saying that there's no replacement for
displacement, but a big turbo strapped to an inline-6 under the
hood of a Grand National is guaranteed to make you grin from ear to
ear. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main
