Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Yenko tribute is a
no-expense-spared kind of build where we have over $300k in
receipts for the frame-off restoration. That means it has an
awesome color combo, clean A/C interior, upgraded suspension,
four-wheel disc brakes, and overdrive transmission. But while the
fundamentals are exceptionally covered on this coupe is the
performance-built big block under the hood that makes this
award-worthy coupe also a street-eating machine.
This car is the product of a four-year restoration in 2018, and so
they really took the time to get the body looking great. So that
fastback styling with a Coke-bottle curves, a cool angled hardtop
profile, and a hint of flying buttress is some of the crisp and
cleanest you'll ever see. The appeal of a Yenko-style car is as
clear as black and white, and so that's also the color theme. The
dark paint is a high-quality, high-gloss finish that has the look
of a black mirror. And the contrasting Yenko S/C stripe package
that pays proper tribute to the best performance dealer Chevrolet
ever had. And the more you look, the more you'll love the details.
This has a blackout grille with custom Chevy bow tie, mirror-like
chrome bumpers, dual power bulge hood, and a terrific set of
American Racing competition-style Torq Thrust wheels.
For the same reason why you like the look of the white stripes
against the black paint is also why you're going to love the
parchment interior. And the pristine bucket seats really draw your
eye to the correct sYc headrests. The big investment in this car
means everything look clean and correct, including the intricate
pattern on the door panels, the dual-spoke Chevy steering wheel
w/tilt column, and the center console with horseshoe shifter. But
while the look is pure vintage, they also have the best
well-integrated upgrades. So under the clean carpeting is Dynamat
insulation, and that classic-style radio is really a AM/FM digital
tuner with Bluetooth and JL Audio speakers. Plus, the Vintage Air
system means you've got cold-blowing R134a air conditioning for
those summer days when you want to cruise with the windows
down.
A proper Yenko tribute means a 427 cubic-inch V8 under the hood,
and this era-correct block is just as show-ready as the rest of the
car. And also just like a proper Yenko, you've got a hot motor
under the hood. THIs big block has been enhanced with aluminum
heads, an Edelbrock air gap aluminum intake, and topped with a
Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor. There are also the right
supporting components, like a serpentine belt system w/upgraded
pulleys and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. Hedman headers
add even more power while also contributing to the rumble of the
H-pipe dual exhaust. It's a big power package, and so it's great to
have a stout Stage 3 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission by
Advanced Transmission. This feeds a 12-bolt Positraction rear end
with 3.42 gears. As you look underneath the car, you'll spot even
more of the best performance upgrade. It includes UMI Performance
control arms front & rear, Hotchkis sway bars front & rear, and QA1
coilovers all-around. Add in power steering, wide Bf Goodrich T/As,
and a Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes kit, and you start to
see how this tribute knows how to keep its wild side under firm
control.
